Amazon Preorders?
 

Has anyone ever preordered a game from amazon? I purchase stuff from them all the time but have never gotten a video game from them. What I want to know is if they ship games out on the day they get released or if it takes them longer then other places. I use their Amazon Prime so I get the 2 day free shipping. I dont want to order a game then get it a week after it gets released.

If it is a price issue (them having the better price), just use them. If they don't get it to you day of release, you can always buy it somewhere else and return the unopened copy you get from Amazon later on. :shrug:

Its not a price issue... just more of a can't wait to play it issue.

Amazon is good with books and CDs. Harry Potter will go out as soon as they get. Software on the other hand, I'll say you are better off going someplace else if you want it as soon as possible.

Yeah, my Scrubs S4 DVD set wasn't sent until the release date. :(

I just had a pre-order experience with amazon and Tiger Woods 2007 for the 360. I'm also a prime member (free trial). The game's release date was a Tuesday, they shipped it on Wednesday (2-day delivery), and it was at my door on Thursday morning. That was fine with me since I don't have much time to play until the weekend anyway.

I preordered Gears of War. It's supposed to be shipped on November 7, official release date, I'll let you know what happens.

According to Microsoft Nov 7 is when they ship the game, so some stores could have the game that day, or Nov 8, or the 9, you get the idea...
