Why do I suck at Fight Night?
 

I cannot win a match. I keep pressing the block button but my boxer doesn't seem to block any hits. Is there a special trick to blocking? Is there a trick to winning? I don't usually suck at videogames.

Which version are you playing? In the Xbox360 version, you hold the Right Trigger and then move the right stick in the direction you want to block. When I first played it, I thought blocking was as simple as holding the Right Trigger, which seems to be what you're doing.

Are we talking about Fight Night Round 3 or the earlier games? I thought Round 3 was way too easy even on the normal difficulty setting. I didn't figure out how to block until around my 15th match or so. I just leaned and dodged out of the way. Hold the right trigger and push the right analog stick in the direction you want to block. Hold the left trigger and push the left analog stick in the direction you want to dodge. Speed is the key in my experience. My guy used the fast stance and fast punching style. My record at the time I retired was 72 wins, 1 loss, and no draws and I had 70 KOs. Your stats start decreasing once you get around 40 years old or so. I was around 44 or 45 when I retired, and every boxer had stats 20+ points higher than me. I lost my first fight so I decided to retire. I thought the game was ridiciously easy as it was the first boxing game I had ever played, so I had no idea what I was doing, but yet I was still kicking everyone's ass. I wish I could fight that well in real life. :)

Maybe because you don't know how to box. :lol:

Maybe you aren't using illegal blows, or have the control on a setting that works for you. I like 5 myself 1 works as well.

Ok, I figured it out. Yeah, I was talking about Fight Night 3 on 360. I've started winning most of my problem was not blocking and my boxer getting tired quickly from throwing too many punches.

Oh yeah, did anyones' thumbs get tore up? Mine hurt like crazy today and one was bleeding this morning.
