But as I said before, there's just too much other things going on (in the gaming world and more importantly real life) for me to get involved in the time sink that is WoW again.

But, I will return someday. I am a big lore nut and all the changes sound totally cool. Did they revamp the old dungeons, too? What became of Mankrik's wife? Does the Ally still raid Crossroads? What towns were destroyed, if any?
They did a pretty good job when Wrath was released. I picked it up at midnight and was able to log in and play right when I got home. Servers are much more stable these days, and having two starting areas spreads out the population. I'm not too worried about it. I'm just bummed that everyone can't log in until midnight PST. That's 2am for me. So I'll probably just set my alarm for around 5am and start playing then. =/

Mankirk has a whole new questline now. Crossroads is unchanged. Southshore has been taken by the Horde. Auberdine is gone. Tanaris is now ocean-front property. Barrens is split and Alliance have settlements in Southern Barrens. Thousand Needles is entirely underwater. Changes are pretty epic in many zones.

My main toons have always been my hunter and my paladin. I'm still liking the hunter, but I will probably level the pally first. Retribution for questing and Protection for running dungeons. I love instant dungeon queues.

Re: World of Warcraft Official Thread - Round 3

I have my pally at 79 and have found prot to be faster for leveling than ret even when questing. also, i'm usually twice the dps of the top dpser as a tank in quest blues and greens.

my plan is to get my Sub Rogue to 85 first but now that i'm on a roll with my pally, i'll have to see. maybe i'll alternate between them

I have an 80 Pally as well, and a 75 Shaman. I think my warrior was 74 or so. Maybe 75.

If the Horde took Southshore, what became of Tarren Mill? What about the rest of the zone? Are all the old school quests gone from most zones? Is Thrall dead or just not the big cheese anymore?

How do they handle n00bs if all the high level players are comes back to the orginal content?

Seems kind of dumb that Amazon can't ship them out so people get them a day early. It's not like it will do you any good until Midnight PST anyway.

Fumanstan has the Blizzard hookup all the time. I guess it helps to work in the same city as the HQ.

Does Fumanstan work for Blizz??

I got a buddy who works there. It's nice getting to play for free!

Re: World of Warcraft Official Thread - Round 3

I asked him before, but I think he said no or never responded. He has me on his ignore list I think from all the Lakers threads

But he gets advance copies of Cataclysm, goes to Blizzcon every year, gets Beta passes for Blizz games, and works in Irvine, so I dunno.

EDIT: He also goes to Lakers playoff games thanks to people at his work, so....

a WoW intervention. That would make a great show on tv. Like the intervention show that is already on, but with something more addictive than cocaine

Re: World of Warcraft Official Thread - Round 3

I'm definitely ready. Got the pally's bags cleaned out, hearth set to Org, and he's parked in Org as well. I'm not getting up at 2am to play tomorrow, but I'll probably be up by 5 or so. Train the new profession levels, grab Old Word Flying, and head to Mt Hyjal!

Re: World of Warcraft Official Thread - Round 3

You guys are crazy.

One of the more fun things to do with the expansions was find new items. Slowly watch your epics be replaced by greens. Get a green or blue from a quest, and actually sit there and ponder whether or not it's worth it.

I think the earliest I come back in next Summer or so.

Keep those of us that don't play updated

If this is anything like lich king then it won't be slow. All our purps will be replaced by level 80 quest greens lol, that is unless you have like ICC 25 purples lol.
