I'm getting more and more excited about the VC. I never played Toejam and Earl, though I've always heard great things about it.
I'm also looking forward to SMB64 with a more traditional controller (never could get the hang of it on the DS) and Ecco the Dolphin, which I only played a few times but remember enjoying.

TJ&E was always awesome with a friend, solo... not so much. And I'm hoping the Cube controller is useable for VC, Super Mario 64 would play like a dream on that pad.

Pinata, you're shocked that there is a Mario Party 8 in the works? An established party game appearing on the "party" system? I just hope that isn't our "big" announcement. Yikes.
Online MP is a good guess, but I doubt that will happen.

I am more surprised that Mario Party 8 is listed in the "WOLD 2006 Lineup"
If I could get this before Chistmas, that would be amazing.
BUT, is that website implying it will be a Wii title, or a Gamecube title?

Of course I'm shocked. I thought MP7 answered all the questions we had!
No, it's just that I hadn't heard it confirmed before now and was wondering if I was just the last to know. I haven't played one since the first, but since I imagine it'll essentially be WarioWare:SM with multiplayer mini-games and a top-level game, I can't wait to see what it brings.

So, pre-order people.. are you going to pick yours up at midnight or Sunday morning?
Seeing as the following week is holiday and sleep for work won't be AS important.. and as I usually have friends over Saturday night anyway, I'm thinking I'll probably grab mine at midnight and show it off to the group. I mean, what fun would it be picking it up myself?!
I think I'm starting to feel the excitement now!

Awesome.
I gave up on the series around 4 or 5 on the Gamecube. The boards and items became to convoluted and complex. I want to see them return to the simplicity "board game" style of the first one. Ya know, round or rectangular boards with 1-2 paths to choose max. The newer ones with 16 different routes and shortcuts is just annoying, not fun. Same with nearly every single space doing something or having something pop up. Again, annoying. Simple = fun to me in this series. It hasn't been fun in a while.

That's a good question I hadn't thought of. My immediate thought is no. These are simple games that allow you to gloat to your friends as you kick their ass. I just don't see Mario Party having the same appeal online.
