Ubisoft "accidentally" leaks tons of next gen pics

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/21/ub...ons-of-assets/

Over two gigs worth of screenshots, videos, and concept art was apparently accidentally posted by Ubisoft on their public ftp server. Whoops. While some of these games have already been announced, some haven't, although there aren't any real surprises here: Assassins Creed, Farcry 2, Farcry PSP, Farcry Wii, Lost, Naruto, Open Season, Prince of Persia, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Rocky PSP, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Splinter Cell Conviction, Surf's Up, Star Wars PSP, Shaun White, TMNT, and TMNT GBA.

Ubisoft isn't too pleased about the leak either, stating,"The publication of this type of information can only be harmful to the game development process and we will take all steps necessary to prevent this from happening in the future."

While we can understand why Ubisoft wouldn't want employees or summer interns posting confidential information on the internet, how does it harm the game development process? We can understand if the raw code for Splinter Cell: Conviction got out, or if a disgruntled programmer posted a disk image of Far Cry 2, but screenshots and videos? And while TGS is unfolding?

It could "only harm" the development process if the screens absolutely sucked. It might turn off gamers. In that case, I'd be just as defensive.

Shaun White? Shaun White?! A video game about Shaun White and no Beyond Good & Evil 2? Sad. :(

It could harm the development process if other companies steal original ideas that are presented in the screens or videos. This is why nintendo is so secret about their deveopment.

I read this. Everyone is reporting the leak, but where are the pics & vids?

Answer my own question.

Hi-res concept art for Prince of Persia Wii

Whoa.. nice water color style!

I hope they're done with the whole "EXTREME!" angle with that series.. at least for the Wii version, please.

I agree on both counts. I never ventured further than the first PoP because of the "EXTREME!" style the sequels took.

The third game (The Two Thrones) mostly went back to the style of Sands of Time. It got rid of the heavy metal soundtrack and half naked girls. It was actually the best game in the series because it was the perfect blend of both predecessors. It had the deeper combat system of Warrior Within and the great Persian atmosphere of Sands of Time. The only really bad thing with Sands of Time was the combat was so simple with only a couple basic moves.

I think you play as the T-Rex and try to eat everyone. You can buy power-ups from Jack's zombie dad.

You're in luck! The full title of the game is Shaun White's Beyond Good & Evil 2: Snowboarding Xtreme.
