PS3 ($600) + 3 Controllers ($50x3=$150) + 1 Game ($60) = $810
Wii ($250) + 3 Controllers ($50x3=$150) + 1 Game ($50) = $450
To me it seems a no brainer in terms of price. And since I really maybe need only one more controller and Zelda to start with, I'm looking at roughly $350.
Let's hope the TRU Bundle comes stateside!

I plan on pretty much avoiding ports though, and just buying DS and Wii exclusives from now on as I seem to enjoy the DS and GC exclusives the most, and I want to get the maximum bang for my buck, and bang for my time since I'm so poor and busy right now.

Wow that was the most obvious and unnecessary explanation ever.

Yes.
I am disappointed that Super Smash Brothers is not a launch title. I really wanted Smash Brothers as a holiday title for parties and multiplayer. .
I will purchase at launch for Super Paper Mario (A gamecube title, but I don't have a gc) and a few others.

Sadly for me, by the time the Wii comes out I'm going to have two roommates and my fiancee, so I'll almost be forced to buy three controllers (because I know we'll all want to play some games together).

Make the roommates by their own if they want to play. Fairs fair.

The announcements to me, were somewhat dissapointing. I really just wanted a 2nd controller with the system for the $250 pricepoint. But, I am still very excited about the Wii in general, as well as the games coming out and the VC. So I've pre-ordered (Amazon) the system for launch.

I wonder if there will be any 3rd-party controllers? I rely on cheapass 3rd party controllers for my Xbox/PS2/Dreamcast/etc. I normally have a couple of good controllers and stick the other folks with offbrand ones.

I guess my exception is the Wavebirds, I've got 3-4 of them.

Nintendo dropped the price in August or September of '96, a few weeks before the N64 launch, not months.
For me, the Wii launch is hardly the home run that the fanboys have been predicting. I'm interested in Zelda, Excitetruck and maybe Rayman. After that I see a lot of waiting for the "killer" games, just like the Gamecube...

But I have so little time for games, that I'm confident the DS and Wii will offer more than enough AAA games to keep me occupied.
