Anyone have some guesses to what will come out of Barcelona (X06) tomorrow?

My guesses:

Black Xbox 360 for the holidays
Official HD-DVD pricing announcement for Europe & North America
A New Halo 3 trailer, perhaps a playable multiplayer level
Fable 2 trailer
Some new game demos on the marketplace: Perhaps Crackdown, Splinter Cell, Need for Speed: Carbon, etc.

Footage should start at 12 p.m. EST / 9 a.m. PST on the 27th and runs through the 29th.

I can't imagine they would let anything from Halo 3 out so early - especially since it would set the fans aflame with criticism no matter what they achieved and they would want a grand unveiling anyways.

Having said that, i would just about pass out if i saw a downloadable playable level from Halo 3. That might be all the game i would need for a little bit.

Supposedly there is a bungie podcast that was just posted recently that said something for Halo 3 will be shown. This is all from reading, I haven't actually listened to it yet.

They'll save it to counter anything good Sony might have up its sleeve.

Bring on Alan Wake!

I downloaded and played through this one, and it's a cool demo. There doesn't seem to be a timer, and you get to play through a stage using up to six different characters. They give you goals to achieve, and if you do so it unlocks two more characters for you to use after you get through the stage and then play free play mode, with 14 characters to play as in free play mode overall.

I don't really think it convinced me to buy the game, at least not at full price right now. I'd pick it up for $20 down the line though.

I believe the xbox version will work on a 360 and it's $10 cheaper. You lose the achievements and the enhanced graphics though.

Very happy to hear more about this. I still listen to the Killer Cuts CD on my iPod at work. I got out of gaming for a bit but my aunt bought me the SNES that came with Killer Instinct when I was in college and I only ever bought 1 other game for the system. I played the hell out of that game.

Is Capcom's top franchise set for Xbox 360 exclusivity?

Speculation over the destination of Capcom's latest Resident Evil horror blockbuster has been reignited, with Xbox Japan boss Takashi Sensui refusing to deny fresh rumours that Microsoft has snatched exclusivity for the game.

The first next-gen instalment in Capcom's lucrative zombie franchise, which was announced for both PS3 and 360 last year, was conspicuous by its complete absence from this week's pivotal Tokyo Game Show, despite being pencilled in for a release by March 2007 according to the Japanese company's own fiscal reports.

Industry chatter at the Tokyo event claimed Resident Evil's no-show is owing to Microsoft tying up a shock exclusivity deal for 360, with an announcement due at the US firm's X06 event in Barcelona next week.

Speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz at TGS 2006, Xbox boss Sensui refused to pour cold water on the rumour when questioned, stating that it had already been announced for Xbox 360 and adding, somewhat enigmatically: "All I can say is we are very good friends with Mr Inafune [the game's producer]".

Capcom, for its part, has not made any suggestion that Resident Evil 5's original status as a PS3 and Xbox 360 title has changed. But the former Sony stalwart has been forging increasingly close ties with Microsoft. Survival-horror romp Dead Rising, a 360-exclusive, recently released to great success in Europe, and a further hotly-tipped Xbox-only title, Lost Planet, is due in January. Capcom is also currently working on a separate Resident Evil title, Umbrella Chronicles, exclusively for Nintendo's Wii system.

Should the rumours prove to be of substance, the securing of 360 exclusivity for Resident Evil 5 would clearly be a massive coup for Microsoft. The series commands a huge global fanbase which would boost its console's appeal in all territories.

Industry watchers today said the onus was now on Capcom to clarify the status of the title in light of the current speculation. A spokesperson for the Japanese publisher was unavailable for comment.

Capcom has killed the exclusive rumor.
