Any word on game pricing? Over $60?

I can't imagine they'd do anything more than $60, but what do I know.

The 360 is not that much less advanced than the PS3. I have yet to see a PS3 game that the 360 couldn't handle. And Blu-ray is not needed for gaming for at least another generation or two.

If Sony doesn't release the system, everyone who has sat on the fence will throw up their hands and buy a 360, Wii, or Wii60. Even some diehards will say, "Forget it. This is taking too long and the system is $600 fucking dollars," and buy a 360, Wii, or Wii60. Meanwhile, HD DVD fans everywhere will rejoice as the much touted "cheap BD player" will not come to market to take advantage of the Christmas season and BD sales will suffer. So, in the end, it's in their best interests to release the system, even if it means only 100 get out, and only 10 of them work. |

Now let's see if these are actually in-game and not fucking cut scenes. |

People still play Ridge Racer??

The last thing they want to do is rush it into the market without a good amount of time for testing. A month and a half to produce, test and release something like this is not enough. It's too big a risk.

If it wasn't so true, it would actually be funny. |
Why do I have this feeling that Sony may offer vouchers for the PlayStation 3 but will not do its official launch until maybe March 2007?
Meanwhile, given all the delays, Microsoft could take advantage of this fact and could find itself with a surprisingly strong marketshare because Xbox 360 machines are now plentiful. |

Well, a small amount of good news for everyone like me who are actually looking forward to the Blu-Ray capabilities of the PS3. Here is a quote from www.thedigitalbits.com:
"On an interesting related note, a number of our industry sources are telling us to expect the PS3 to one of the best - if not THE best - Blu-ray Disc players on the market initially, because the unit has apparently been put through very rigorous QC to test format spec and disc compatibility. We shall see. FYI, the PS3 streets in the U.S. on 11/17." So maybe it won't be just a cheap software only BR player. |
Hmmm. Just because it goes through rigorous quality control doesn't mean it will be the best player. It just means it will work the way it should, no problems. I don't see it meaning it provides the best quality picture at all.
And didn't Sony rush the BR to the market anyway? Does that mean they rushed QC on those $1000 players? |
