Do you get headaches from playing?

I have been playing "Resident Evil 4" a lot lately. i'm not sure if it is the way i am laying my head on the pillow, but i can get wicked headaches if i play too long (and by long i mean an hour or so). it seems to amp up during playing and then last indefinitely. i enjoy playing and don't want to stop, but they can get bad. i fear it may be just this game, but i doubt that, just haven't wanted to play something else yet.

anyone else have this problem?

there have been a few threads discussing people getting sick while playing video games:

The first time I ever got sick from videogames was 2 weeks ago playing a monster round of Call of Duty. I didn't notice how long I had been playing (6 hours or so) and when I got up I could hardly see, had to take a power nap. Headache stuck with me for a couple days.

I noticed that if we get a headache from playing video game was from tense or stress. If I play Madden '06, I don't get headache... if I play CoD online, I get headache after playing 2 hours.

Nope. But I usually don't play for longer than 1-2 hours each time.

No. But if I already have a headache, it intensifies greatly if I play a video game.

Headaches? No... Eyestrain, yes :(

sounds like your problem is different from the other headache threads, which people claim motion sickness. 1 hour is not very long to play either.

My suggestion is you sit a bit further from your TV, or try playing in a well lit area (i know it is resident evil 4 but try it anyway). See how it goes. And don't forget to breath while your playing.

I've been playing all kinds of games for years and years, and never got any headaches from them. Recently, a slew of games (Oblivion, Republic Commando, Tomb Raider Legends, and X-Men Legends 2) on the PC started giving me a horrible headache if I played it for more than forty minutes or so.

I had no idea why this was the case, but ended up fiddling with the settings on my ATI graphics card. I tried using a couple of their blur filters (motion blur, especially) as well as changed the refresh rates. Eventually it got to the point where I wouldn't get sick from Tomb Raider or X-Men, though I don't know if it was because I got used to it or due to the my new settings.

I lost interest in Oblivion and Republic Commando before I could cure my sickness from them
