Top Spin 2 (X360) Who's getting it/playing it?

Release date is today, but my local Gamestop said today's the ship date and it'll be available tomorrow. Early reviews have been less than stellar, but I'm still dying to play some good ol TP2 on xbox live in HD, sans lag.

From what I've been hearing, it's a solid game with some sporadic technical issues. It's kind of a shame that companies are releasing broken games, but alas, deadlines hurt I suppose.

I'm thinking MS selling their sports studio has caused these titles to take a real hit in quality. Amped 3 is crap and if this one is as well, then they're 0 for 2.

I'm getting it. I just don't know when. I think I'll wait until I finish Full Auto. I hate having a stack of unbeaten games.

I MIGHT get it...the $40 price is nice on it. I thought AMPED 3 was decent....humorous at least. I'm just not a snowboarding fan.

I picked it up last night. I don't really see any technical issues. The game doesn't feel like a vast improvement over the original game, nor does it feel like a leap into the next generation... but it's still a blast to play.

The minimal audio seems to be slightly less authentic than it was in the original game, but other than that I have no complaints so far. I played for hours last night.

Yeah, I think people are saying it's like Top Spin 1.5....which isn't a bad thing. I know someone on another thread said the control are RIGHT ON, so that is the most important thing. I'll probably get it with credit I have....or RZ certs at Best Buy.

Yep, Top Spin 1.5 is pretty accurate. Plays just like the first game with minor improvements here and there. I mean, it's tennis... what more can you really do with it besides upgrade the graphics, tighten up the gameplay and add new modes and arenas?

1.5 isn't a bad thing, but it comes down to price. Is a marginal upgrade worth the price of admission?

Me too. As soon as my latest certificates show up, I'll get it.

Since I never owned the first Top Spin, I see no reason why I shouldn't pick this up then. Decent price too.

Pick it up this evening. Fun game. The controls are very good The graphics arent mind blwoing next gen but they are crisp and it doesnt feel like Im playing a current gen game. The features are nice as well with a solid career mode. You dont have to know an immense amout amount about tennis to catch on and enjoy it as Im not a huge tennis buff. So far 7.5/10. Im really looking forward to online play.

I picked it up today also.....I thought it was ok. The controls were nice, but seemed a little stiff at times. I guess it did not seem as fast as tennis at times, like no REALLY powerful forehands. I do like the game though...just have to play more. I was getting my ass kicked though by the CPU.

Top Spin (the original) is definitely the premier tennis sim still. So an upgrade to that is not necessarily a bad thing.

One real "bad" thing I heard about this game is that you cannot choose to have your player at the bottom of the screen all the time, you actually have to switch sides. I will be the first to admit, I suck playing at the top of the screen.

Ahem. Go to Best Buy. $39.99 - $5 gamer gift card = $34.99

Same price and there is likely a BB in your area.

Is the original Top Spin backwards compatible for the 360? If so, I will just play that one.
