I just re-visited my town. What a MESS! On the one hand, I did have a lot of things to dig up. Still I keep getting "oids" and maybe two fossils.

Anyone need to be added to my friend list? I usually leave my town open 27x7 so anyone can visit any time! Please let me know.

I have the hardest time fishing in Animal Crossing.

What's the technique to use to get fish?

----------------------

Also how do I get turnips?

I just bought this game and am learning now

For fishing, make sure you can see a shadow in the water. Throw your fishing line as close to the fish as possible. Once the bobber goes under water, press A to reel it in.

Turnips you get on sunday mornings from the turnip lady.

I completely understand! Fishing was such a frustrating part of the game for me (I tried everyday too). One gauge I use is to listen as well as watch the bobber. When you see the splash and hear the audible plop when the bobber goes under, press A.

When I just watched for the bobber to go under I would reel in a little too soon....the time difference is not that big, obviously, but it made a huge impact on my success rate.

Now, I still can't catch the really big fish too well, but maybe with practice I can master that too.

How about digging? How do I know where to dig?

Thanks for the bobbing tip on fishing. It works great!

Everyday you will find several x marks appear on the ground around your town. These are somewhat hard to see sometimes, but you have to walk around and look closely at anything that looks different. The "X" mark is not that small. You may even find it on the sand by the beach, or anywhere else, behind a building, tree, or just out in the open. Pull out your shovel and dig the "X" which will yield either a fossil or a gyroid.

Fossils you can donate to the museum or sell. Gyroids are for decoration, or to sell.
