I thought they replaced 2405 with 2407? One that is HDCP compliant and has improvements. I been looking into that around october when I decide what is best option for some 480p wii gaming and a replacement for my deceased 21 iiyama crt.

how is playing a PC game at lower than native resolution on these monitors. I know it's not optimal, but how bad is it really? A lot of people avoid getting such a large LCD monitors, because they can't afford the video cards to push games at native resolution. But how bad is it really? I never been able to find pictures of games running at low resolutions.

Isn't the 360 set up to output to a 16x9 display? Is the display stretched at all on these 16x10 monitors?

2407WFP is supposed to be a replacement model with HDCP. It has just been released in Japan and then in Australia. Both countries are flooded with similar complaints about the image quality. Apparently, there are ghosting and vertical banding issues, especially via the DVI input, with this display. The 2407 has an updated LCD panel but seems to have inferior parts than the 2405. Dell has not released the 2405 here yet most likely because of the quality issues at hand.

Initially I was waiting for the 2407 as well for its HDCP capability. Now with the quality issues and the likely possibility of taking a few hardware revisions/months to fix the major problems, plus the likely pricing of the 2407 above $1000, I gave up and bought the 2405 for $640 during the sale early this month. I think it would take a long time before the 2407 can match this kind of price.

I don't have a 360. But for the life of me I can't get my 2405 to display true aspect ratio widescreen from my PS2. As I mentioned early, I set the Tomb Raider:Legend to display in widescreen format in 480p and via component input but the display still shows a 4:3 image with everything compressed horizontally as if it was trying to show a wider angle of view.

Do you have "fill" selected in the scaling section of the Image Settings? It's possible yours is currently set to "aspect" which would pose a problem...

There is a widescreen setting in the PS2 setup menu as well. Try that.
