Dear god, that was painful. Those G4 announcers are annoying, stupid and obnoxious. However, I didn't know that the Metroid Prime games occurred inbetween Metroid and Metroid 2. That's kind of random.

Not if you've played the Prime games, especially the first one. The scans in the original Prime indicate that some of the pirates involved in the Phazon experiments fled from the Zebes base before it blew at the end of the original game.
