Metroid Prime: Hunters DS
 

so who is getting this game? it looks to be wifi so death matches over the internet :) i'm going to pick it up when its out, i just think it looks so damn cool.

The game content appears to be there, my only remaining concern is controlabilitiy. If that is up to speed I'll be picking it up.

looks cool as hell therefore I will be getting it :D I'm sure there will be a MP: Hunters game for the revolution too which will be freakin badass.

The game looks really good, but I'm not a FPS person so I'm skipping it. Definitely want to try it out though and see.

I'm still on the fence.. I loved Metroid Prime and Echoes but not for the reasons this game showcases.

I couldn't get used to the controls the demo offered. As much as I want to play this, I'll probably pass. It does look really good though.

Yeah, the controls make me borderline as well.

Suposedly the one player game is nearly as long as prime and involves the same elements.


Regarding control, the control from the demo carts is not what this game will have, its reworked. I don't know if its any good though.

Very on the fence about this. Love metroid, but wasn't huge on Prime and Echoes, and this runs the risk of being just another FPS fragfest rather than a first person adventure game.

I'm not sure how reworked it can be. With only the D-pad, looking around would have to be done either with the touch screen or with the face buttons like they were on N64. Either way sucks IMO.

From what I've read the single player mode plays more FPS than FPA.. I'm not saying that's bad.. but the adventuring aspects were what kept me glued to the Gamecube iterations. I'm keeping my eyes on reviews just to get clarification on how the single player mode plays out.

when i grab it i'll post how it works/plays on here that way you guys will know, it just looks damn cool!

Another vote for "on the fence" about Hunters. I liked the first Prime okay, but I wasn't happy with how artificially padded it felt compared to the rest of the series. Great news about the expanded Wi-Fi stuff, though.

the only other game i've played since the nes metroid is the demo of the pinball one they have on the ds at walmart. so i'm excited about this, i'm counting down the days :)

yeah I was worried about that too, I loved Metroid Prime and Echoes. But I want to see the reviews and see if there's explorationin this game. The wifi stuff sounds sweet though.

I'll likely be there on day with you, so we can test this out against each other.

I am a huge series fan, and although I fully expect Hunters to stray from the formula, I am not picking it up for any similarities to the Primes. I am purely interested in the action aspect this time around, especially the multiplayer.

I'll give you all a preview of the voice chat.

no it isn't xbox live, i can't wait for the day when you're online gaming and some kid is a smart ass and you can hit the "i'm an adult button" and a fist comes outta their screen and beats in their faces. oh that would be so great.

I doubt it will happen very often. With the way the system is implemented, a person will fall out of favor real quick and not be able to join any games...

Not unless you have dumbasses for friends. You will only be able to chat with people on your Friends list. Nintendo is too paranoid about kids meeting pervs online to let just random people chat. There will be something called Rivals, though. You can choose anybody to be a Rival and it's pretty much the same as being a Friend except you can't communicate with them. So for instance, if you play a game online against randomly chosen opponents, and one of them is really good and you want to play them again sometime you can add them to your Rivals list. It'll notify you whenever they're online and you can monitor their stats and challenge them to a game anytime, but you can't chat with a Rival. Only Friends.

I'm all over this. Love everything about it. And I loved the last two Metroid games.

yeah maybe when it does ship those of us who are getting it can post our gamertags here and make sure we have our dvd talk people on our friends list, kinda like we do with every other multiplayer game around here.
