Gamecube Retro compliations
Anyone know of anyone good ones for GCN (Gamecube Nintendo)? I spotted this one, but I can't say I've heard of all of the games on it TBH (Mappy? Sky Kid?), theyre not what I would call classic games. :(

Mappy and Sky Kid are definitely classics and Galaga is on that disc.
As far as classics compilations go, the PS2 has better offerings with the Capcom and Taito discs specifically. I'm actually surprised neither of those were ported to Cube as I'd assume a good portion of the Cube's audience are classic gamers. I believe all 3 volumes of Midway's classics discs are on the Cube though, the first 2 having a decent offering of classic Williams and Midway arcades. |
Maybe I'll see if the US version is different (the one I linked to was the UK version).
Whats the Midway compliation for Cube called? I know of one called "Midway Arcade Treasures" but I think thats only on PS2/X Box over here (UK) :( Might get the Namco one if it comes down in price though. |

You are right, Midways complaitions are on the Cube, only in the US though it seems (don't worry, I have the Freeloader as I'm in the UK). Do you know of any suppliers that ship games to the UK (I dont think Amazon do)? :confused: |
There are 3 volumes of Midway Arcade Treasures and the US does have all 3 on Gemecube ... sux that they aren't made available to you.

Actually, since you're in the UK maybe we can help each other out. I'm looking for a European only GBA game, Hamtaro Rainbow Rescue. I could probably pick up Midway 1 & 2 and ship them out to you if you could find me a new (or at least complete) copy of that.

I've heard good stuff about Animal Crossing - I may pick that up if its' cheap, that also has a Europe/UK release. Are the hidden NES games on the UK release too? :) Its' just sometimes its a bit annoying using the Freeloader if I just want a quick blast (see Ikaruga). |
I'm pretty sure the UK Animal Crossing is the exact same game. I know the passwords from the UK one work for the US game. I was pretty popular at gamefaqs for a while letting people mail me their memory cards and unlocking all 19 games for them. The best way to get them now is with the Action Replay or if you have a device that lets you download GameCube saves, you can download mine from gamefaqs. I know AC is only 19.99 US now. Probably true for every game I posted, that price or less, except the Japanese ones and the Zelda ones which were free at one point, now seem to go for a fortune.

I think I have all of the NES games in Animal Crossing except for Mario Bros. That came on the Series 4 E-Cards, and I must have bought more than 20 packs a couple at a time trying to get it without success. The Action Replay unlocked a few of the other rare games like Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros, Adventures of Zelda, and Punchout. But no Mario Bros :(

Mario Bros is the original 2 player arcade game from 1983 that featured Mario and Luigi flipping turtles, crabs and butterflys. It's available as a freebie on all of the Super Mario Advance Gameboy Advance games.

Why doesn't Nintendo put out a GC disc of their own classic games? I'd love to play Mario 64 without dragging the old unit out. Likewise for Super Mario 3. I'd rebuy!

I've noticed some of the Midway Treasures compliations are M rated (possibly 12+/16+ in the UK). What possibly justifies that high an age rating? :confused: EDIT: Probably because 2 has some of the Mortal Kombat games on it... |
