quick Q about 360 HD component cable
is the cable able to be "split" so you can plug the audio cords straight into a surround system and still plug the video one's into the TV?

I don't think so....HOWEVER, you will want to use an OPTICAL cable anyways for sound, and you can run that from the 360 component cable seperate (there is a small hook-up for the optical cable on the base of the cable)

so just buy an optical cable and plug that into the 360 and straight into the surround sound?

The HD cable has an optical out jack. You run an optical cable to the surround sound receiver and the component cables to the TV. The same cable set that goes to the TV has steroe cables that I didn't hook up. As an FYI, the default setting on the cable is not HD. You need to push the switch on the cable. My next door neighbor ran his for 2 weeks before I noticed that it was set on standard def. |
