If there are games that are on the XBox 360 now that you really want to play, then you might want to reconsider your decision. For me, XBox Live Arcade has been the best thing about the XBox 360, so far. So if the article in Variety is to be believed, then the chances of getting a PS3 at launch will be even harder than the XBox 360, because you know that the PS3 will sell out in Japan on release day and probably all over the world, for that matter. Good luck with your decision, Chris |

Because XBLA purchases are electronic only, there's no way to "resell" it or give it away (as would be the case in a traditional game distribution) if the bugs are too annoying. |

Multiplayer support for Gauntlet and Joust is a bit spotty - creating or joining a game can sometimes be difficult to do. These are minor errors. In Marble Blast Ultra, the leaderboards cannot be filtered by friends unless you add or remove several people in your friends list. This is a pretty major error and still has not been fixed. In Outpost Kaloki X, there are some achievements which are impossible to get. The game is simply glitched. In Zuma, leaderboards have members with impossible scores in the billions and beyond. This is a game error or exploit and has not been fixed. <s>In Smash TV, you cannot play online. The game will often randomly reset you.</s> (This happens when both players die) All of the above I have seen first-hand. There are also been a reported problem with Mutant Storm Reloaded (an invincibility bug) but I have not been able to see it or replicate it first-hand. These are the ones I know of. Except for Smash TV, none of them really affect gameplay, but they do affect the overall experience to some extent. None of these "break" a game. In fact, even if none of the "extra" features worked, you'd still have the same type of game you'd have on a PC or non-360 console and it would work just as well. For $5, I'm going to be realistic and not complain a whole lot since this only affects any of my bragging rights, not actual gameplay. The biggest slap in the face so far has been PD0 and CoD2's online play. I would not mind getting a refund for Smash TV. |
I know Best Buy has been getting these more often, but what are the estimates for Amazon to start getting some in stock? Historically have they been much further behind?

<hr> And for everyone else: local Gamestops around here are taking pre-orders for guaranteed April 1st delivery of premium 360s. (Yes, that's an unfortunate choice for a date). |

That is not a bad deal. Only about 18 bucks when you figure in the tax. |
Went into another Best Buy today, nothing. Where do some of you live where there's mountains of 360's just waiting to be purchased? :)

By the time the system was in stock when i walked into a store, the intrest was very depleted. I looked back at my xbox and my ps2, and i realised this could be another situation where i would hardly find anything unique id like to play on the 360 then the ps3, which was the case for ps2/xbox. I hate FPS games and that is a major draw to the xbox, not to me tho. I truely want to be proven wrong, but it just isnt looking that way. Maybe once its down to 200 and there is some compelling games =) |

Show Low, AZ up in the White Mountains. I wouldn't say we have mountains of them, but the local kmart always seems to have at least a core system. Have you thought about having one of the dvdtalkers pick one up for you and ship it? It would cost you a little more because of shipping, but think of how much time you would save and you would have your 360. :) |

Yeah, if I had found a 360 back in Nov./Dec./Jan. I would've bought one. But now that I owe a bunch of taxes (federal/state/property), it would be irresponsible of me to buy one now, if at all.
|
Trying to find an 360 has reached 666 posts. Well, 667 now, but noentheless... it let's you know what you the cost to get one and what those who have one have already given up.... muahaha
Speaking of which, does anyone know how long Amazon.com usually lags behind from the other major retailers in getting these things in stock? Danke! |
One Best Buy near me has gotten them in in the last 3 weeks, and they were sold out by the time I left work for the day.
I think I'm giving up. |

I live in Southern California and it's 99.9% impossible to find one here. Circuit City posted in their Sunday ad that they received some units. But low and behold, they were all gone about 30 minutes after opening up at one near my house. I wonder why Microsoft isn't just tripling and quadrupling production? They should set up more plants in China, Malaysia, Indonesia to get these damn things built!
Or do you think it's best to wait maybe 1 year or so and see if the bugs are worked out from these priliminary units? I actually already have a regular Xbox and am pretty satisfied with my gaming on it. Microsoft isn't really giving me much encouragement that I will be able to get one of the 360's anytime in the near future. |
I saw probably about a dozen premium xbox's today at the Best Buy in Westminster, CA while I was there picking up GR:AW. They were all there sitting in the cage. It definitely gave me the impression that these are now plentiful. Might be worth a drive for some of you Socal folks.

It's only a matter of time now before every store starts getting them in. Isn't March the month that the new systems coming from the new manufacturer are due?
|
Circuit City just had some Premiums show up on their site, but when I tried to add one to my cart they were "experiencing technical difficulty." Ah well.
And the Best Buy store finder STILL shows no 360s in stock anywhere, including the store that is half a mile from their corporate headquarters. |

I got one at Target a few weeks ago. |
