Yes, but you have to be damn lucky to get in on those wishlist things.

Me and my g/f were trying yesterday on a creative mp3 player with a dock and speakers etc., but didn't get in. You have to click on crap at certain times and see if you can get in.

When I got the amazon $1K pack on launch date, I tried the walmart thing with 4 games. They didn't want anything to do with that. I know they also track your returns of this type with a driver's license and if you have more than a couple in a year's time they'll tell you to get lost.

Right after Christmas they're much more lenient about returns. At least in my experience they are.

Most stores will accept returns after X-mas w/o a receipt. BB will give you the lowest price in the last 30 days. Wal-Mart will allow 3 returns w/o a receipt in a 6 month span, before they ban you from returns for 6 months.

Yeah, the stuff could easily be returned w/o receipt if you hit up a few different chains after X-mas.

Many are indeed more lenient at that time as so many people have unwanted gifts.

The lady I spoke with (after 18 minutes on hold) said she couldn't guarentee that they'd ship on time. She also seemed tired of answering questions.

I canceled my order at Gamestop. I was worried they'd send all the games/accessories now and then not send an Xbox until later.

Just checked it shows cancelled on my order via order tracking.

Handle-

You should have held on to that order. From another forum:

I just called and spoke to a very nice representative and she said:

1. They're getting shipments of the bundles tpday/tomorrow and that is what caused the sale on the site
2. The site WILL NOT sell more than the number they are receiving
3. Despite the "backordered" status of some of the items, they are all arriving in a bundle to their facility so they will be filled as a bundle, not shipped separately.
4. They will be shipping Monday, so I should have it Tuesday
5. If anything changes they'll email me (duh)

Obviously, there's still no guarantee....but....you never know.

I wasn't willing to take the change on having a bunch of games and no XBOX. Plus I didn't need those guides and the two extra controllers and the service plan.

But let us know if you get it.

And from another post:

I just talked to the someone in Customer Service at GS.com, and they confirmed that my order that I made yesterday will be shipping out on Monday. She said to check the order status Sunday night or early Monday morning. E-mail notification will be sent out with tracking info when it ships.

Just an FYI for those that ordered yesterday and possibly today.

Of course, you know that you're supposed to believe everything you read on the Internet.

With my luck, I'll be stuck with $500 worth of games I really didn't want and no Xbox.

Yeah, it all adds up. Basically, when you look up the order that's been placed, all the items are listed individually, with individual prices. Other than that stupid extended warranty, it's all good.

Of course, if you're like me, you didn't need two extra controllers or all those games.

I can't get them to cancel my order at CompUSA! I've e-mailed them 3 times, and I tried to call but a machine told me they were too busy and to call back later.

I e-mailed and asked if they would ship the games first. Here's the reply I received:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for writing to us at GameStop.com

The entire bundle should ship together.

We value your business and hope to see you soon at GameStop.com

Don't know if this has been posted or not

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051207/...oft_ballmer_dc

Microsoft's CEO will have to shop for his Xbox Wed Dec 7, 5:44 PM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp.'s (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) Chief Executive Steve Ballmer will have to shop around for an Xbox 360 game console this holiday season just like the rest of us -- it doesn't come with his job.

"The Ballmer children do not have their Xbox 360 yet. I'm in the same boat as many of you," Ballmer said. "Thanks to the wonders of Sarbanes-Oxley, management does not get a free Xbox 360," he quipped at a meeting of technology industry executives.

Under financial disclosure rules, Microsoft would have to classify a free game console as income for Ballmer.

The premium version of Microsoft's next-generation game machine carries a $400 price tag.

The Xbox 360 debuted in North America on November 22 and Microsoft estimates that it will sell 5.5 million units worldwide by the end of next June.

That's a load of dog puckey.

That guy could just buy ALL of the ones on eBay!

He's worth 12.6 BILLION!!! He'd just have his butler buy one. Or M$ would give him one and then declare it as income.

What a joke M$ is sometimes.

Keep them unopened and go to Walmart or Fred Meyer or any other store that allows no-receipt exchanges and get games you do want. Of course, you might have to shell out a few extra bucks so that it looks like the store's getting something back, i.e. buy an extra controller or something.

And by shop, they mean have his assistant get on the phone and demand one brought to his office at once, no calling and visiting 5 stores seeing if they received their "shipment" yet.

Looks like gamestop is sold out. I knew I should have ordered one earlier. Hopefully they will be back up later.

Actually, the pages are still there. It wont let me add it to my cart though.
