What kind of TV will you be playing your 360 on?

Just curious what kind of TV people have for when they get a 360?

I have a 55" RPTV Mitsubishi (no 720p , but I have 1080i)

Drexl 10-26-05 11:15 AM

Where's the option for a VGA monitor? Then again, that wouldn't be considered a TV.

DJ_Longfellow 10-26-05 11:21 AM

Aren't most monitors going to be LCD these days?

shizawn 10-26-05 11:31 AM

I'm not getting one but my soon-to-be-roommate probably will. If that's the case, it'll most likely be played on a 65" Toshiba RPTV.

Apollo 10-26-05 11:33 AM

I chose Rear projection ,but I have a Sony GrandWega LCD RP that supports
720p. The width is only 13 1/2 inches of sweetness.

Save Ferris 10-26-05 11:47 AM

I have a 60" Sony Grand Wega III LCD RP

The native resolution is about 780 I think (it upconverts/downconverts beautifully)

DJ_Longfellow 10-26-05 11:51 AM

Nice, I was looking into the LCD-RP TV's through Sony also.

What TV's are the BEST for gaming?

Decker 10-26-05 11:54 AM

42" Plasma. When and if I pick up a 360.

Save Ferris 10-26-05 12:01 PM

hmmm I would feel uncomfortable playing any game system on a plasma.

I know they've gotten much better about burn-in but having health bars and numbers in a fixed position on the screen for many many hours would make me worry. I hate worrying even if somethings 'hardly an issue'. It would always be in the back of my mind.

I think its going to have to be a process of elimination, theres so many good TVs out now. Narrow it down with price/size/brand etc.

I know some Tosh. DLPs had issues with sync but they may have fixed those. The new Sony LCOS and 3LCDs look SOOOOOoOOO good.

kakihara1 10-26-05 12:31 PM

48" I`art Rear Projection capable of 720p/1080i :D Once I have enough money I'm going to free up that footprint with a flat panel.

I've never had a problem with any ghosting, burn-in, etc. I see your point about not wanting to worry about it though. I wanted a display that I could hang over the fireplace. It was either plasma or LCD and LCD in June, 2004 wasn't as impressive as it is today (IMO). No regrets at all. Incredible picture.

DJ_Longfellow 10-26-05 12:52 PM

Yeah, my friend has a Plasma and it was ok to play games on. I want to upgrade, but I cannot jusify getting rid of my Mits TV. I mean, how do you sell that? It was a pain to move once, and I don't really have room for another big-ass TV in my house. However, the 3LCD from Sony are nice. I would have to get the 60" one though, I cannot go smaller ;)

travlr 10-26-05 01:02 PM

42" Panasonic Plasma

Nosmo Rex 10-26-05 01:26 PM

Toshiba 57" RP.

Save Ferris 10-26-05 01:33 PM

I didnt want a 60" at first but that was all that was available at the time. Now that Ive had it a year, I cant imagine going smaller. Talk about immersive gaming! lol

Maxflier 10-26-05 01:34 PM

Not sure when i will get one, but when i do it will be played on my Mitsubishi DLP.

msdmoney 10-26-05 02:11 PM

Wow, some impressive TV's here, when and if I get a 360, I will probably still be playing on my 20" 4:3 tube. But it has a built in VCR...bet none of your fancy HDTVs have that.

garrettg 10-26-05 02:38 PM

InFocus 7205 onto a 92" Draper 16:9 screen. Fun!!

BigDave 10-26-05 02:38 PM

46" of DLP sweetness. The 720p games on the Xbox were ok, but I'm ready for games that are optimized for HD. Can't wait!

Oops, good point. I chose "LCD", but I'm going to use our 55" rear projection LCDSony KDF-E55A20. I probably should have chosen RP.

Can't wait to see what it looks like, I've been too lazy to bring the old X-Box down and hook it up.

Noonan 10-26-05 02:57 PM

16:9 Tube for me. It's a 30" Panasonic. I may upgrade come tax time next year.

Adam Tyner 10-26-05 03:59 PM

Panasonic TH-50PX50U plasma HDTV.

azeledge 10-26-05 04:11 PM

My option wasnt there.

I'll be on a good Ole' 19" CRT VGA monitor! A poor man's HD and Widescreen! ;)

Eventually will get a bigger projector that supports HD since my current one does not.

PixyJunket 10-26-05 04:17 PM

13" via RF connection.
