Quake 4 or F.E.A.R??
Which games are you guys getting??
I would go for F.E.A.R but heard that the downside is that there is not much variety in the enemies and does get repetitive.....have not heard anything yet about Quake 4.

Quake 4, IMHO, looks way too much like Doom 3. And Doom 3 itself was way too repetitive for me. So when I have the time, I'm going with FEAR.

It looks like FEAR is the one to get, judging by the scores so far.

Quake 4 here. To me, what was old is new again. The survival-horror feel of FEAR just doesn't do it for me. I have never cared for the Resident Evil series, and the scare attempts in Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 were my least favorite elements of those games. Quake looks like it will be a return to an old-fashioned blastfest FPS, and that sounds good to me. I also like that it takes place in the Quake 2 universe (as a continuation from the original sequel). Plus, I dig Raven's work and loved what they did with the Jedi Knight series.
Just a matter of preference for me, though. FEAR looks very good and I may pick it up down the line if the buzz from gamers is still strong.

Played the demo of FEAR and was really impressed. That's the one I'll pick up (thoughas I've yet to even open up HL2, I'll probably wait a while).

I'll be picking up FEAR first and will wait for a price drop on Q4.
Between FEAR and Age of Empires III, these will tie-me-over until the Xbox 360 arrives.

FEAR = First Encounter Assault Recon team.
Here is a link you can peruse to get started. It's actually more like a survival-horror type of FPS.

I picked up my copy of Q4 last night (had to wait for Shaddow of the Colossus to be released) and I am definitely all smiles. I didn't have anytime to hit the single player (updated all my drivers - chipset drivers destroyed my machine), but the multiplayer is a spot-on feel for Q3. This, for anyone who doesn't know, is exactly perfect. The only thing I didn't like (so far) is that I couldn't easily customize the weapons I wanted on my server. I wanted to make an all railgun server, but couldn't find where to select the weapons.
I will not have any time to play tonight (VT game), but definitely crush into it this weekend for the single player and some latenight multiplayer. I'll do a brief review for everyone who is on the fense.

I'd probably pick Quake 4 over what's been said about both here (Quake being a more old-school kill-em-all FPS) but I'm don't think I'll be upgrading my computer for any game for the time being. Oddly enough, I just re-installed Quake II the other night for a quick romp.

Well Fear has four letters and Quake 4 has a four in it so I would say go with Quake because it is like 54 and fear is like 4. Besides even without the 4 quake has 5 letters, that should tell you right there its a better game.

Superman 64 is better than both FEAR and Quake 4 combined. Superman has 8 letters, and with the 64 on the end, it becomes 864. Also, look how awesome Xbox360 will be: 4 letters + 360 = 4360!!
