Did he actually say that on the air? What kind of mature professional says stuff like that?

Actually, he said that later to GamePolitics.com.

Yeah I was expecting Anderson Cooper to hardball him because I saw him do it to smoeone else in a previous show that I caught by chance but it was just a 5 second clip. (speaking of Cooper, he looked awful, like he hasn't had sleep in days, huge bags under his eyes).

Don't know if you've been reading PA for the last few days, but he tried to get PA arrested by faxing a letter to the Seattle Police.

However today it was revealed that he faxed the letter to personel except the police officer addressed in the letter (it was an empty threat?).

The email responses are almost unbelievable but unfortunatley true, I almost believed that it was some 11 year old kid typing his immature responses. I have a feeling he's going to be going away for awhile, people are just sick of him now and ignoring him.

 That dude is CRAZY! He types messages like he's cutting a wrestling promo or something (with the third person).

I agree.. I think it's all a ploy to get a rise out of the little kids and boy howdy it's working like a charm.

The PA guys make quite a bit of money. They aren't poor guys living off reader donations like they used to be. They do ads/comics for what seems like at least major game release a month, they've just released a collection through Dark Horse, they get a lot of ad revenue for their site, etc.. They also have at least one full time employee working for them currently. I wouldn't be surprised if their PAX convention made them so money this year either.

I think pretty much only PA and PVP are really and truly profitable, and I would guess PA is the more profitable of the two.

I'm sure I make more money than they do (and I'm by no means raking it in), but then again, I don't get to sit around all day playing video games and drawing.

Plus the comic appears in a few gaming magazines, PSM EGM to name a few. That probably gets them a bit of revenue as well. Once they got a lawyer in their mists that was able to get them out of that 1st book deal that went south, they've really turn their act around and become profitable.
You should also add Megatokyo to the profitable webcomic list

It would be funny if it were true, but I don't think he's that smart. I'm pretty sure he really does think that all gamers are slime, anyone that disagrees with him is slime, and that he's on a holy crusade to bring down the gaming industry. Just like he's already brought down the rap industry, the porn industry, and so forth. Ah, what am I saying? It's funny either way.

Looks like he's at it again, though I think there's something fishy about it...

I don't have the link but you can now buy T-shirts with his infamous made up word "pixelante" across the front. What the hell is that? I'm not quite sure, the guy is on drugs. According to him, we're all pixelante's, right on! :)

Man, was this guys hero Joe McCarthy or something? I still find it funny that a governor who made his entire career off of violence and kids watching his violent movies and playing the violent games made from those movies has sided with him. Arnie is a true politician now that he has fully embraced hypocrisy.

Hokeyboy 10-23-05 07:27 PM

I've bumped into Jack Thompson many times (he lives down here). In person, he's actually a very nice guy. Too bad he's a fucking PSYCHO. Does anybody *really* listen to whatever this loudmouth idiot has to say anymore? To him, there's no problem in the world that cannot be solved by (a) absolute censorship and (b) throwing a bible at the problem.

Apparently, Jack Thompson has been kicked off the GTA case in Alabama by the judge. The judge also has revoked Thompson's license to practice law in Alabama.
I would have loved to seen his reaction to that. Anyone have a video clip of it? -smile-

Outlaw 11-21-05 12:55 AM

 There is justice in the world!

Man, I wonder if I can get that 10k if I made a ZZT game that Jack Thompson wants. I can do that.
