Nintendo Fun Club Newsletter
I know I am way behind the times here, but I just found out about that Fun Club Newsletter Winter '87 issue selling for over $1000 on eBay in 2002.
I have this issue in near mint condition, as well as multiple copies of all the other issues, many in mint condition. I also have several Nintendo Fun Club full page typed letter/letterhead about various things like one that welcomes me to the club and it has signatures on it. I also saved the actual envelopes Nintendo sent me too with their logo and little art pics on it.
Is this stuff worth anything or was that auction a fluke?
I have tons more Nintendo junk like various promo material and booklets they used to have in stores or send you (stuff people throw away). I have an original receipt with Nintendo header for an old Fun Club issue I ordered from them too.
And lots more weird stuff. Like all 4 McDonald's Super Mario 3 Happy Meal Boxes, plus the toys unopened and a yellow plastic SM3 sign that McDonald's hung up at the time. Also have a giant vinyl-type wall scroll for The Wizard and many Wizard Universal Studios mini-Nintendo Power booklets they gave out at their Wizard Tournament. An old Game & Watch promo ad, some booklet about the opening of Nintendo World stores. I basically saved everything Nintendo I could my hands on back then.

That sounds pretty cool. Not sure about value though, it depends on the person who is interested.
could you maybe post some pics for those of us without the foresight to keep these things?

$50? Wow, someone really overpaid then.
I wish I had a scanner, but maybe this weekend I can take some pics with my digital camera. The weird thing about the first 2 Fun Club issues is that they are simple black/white/grey/and pink (?) colors only so if someone had a good scanner they could upload the scans and people could print identical brand new copies of them. I guess it would then come down to getting the paper right. They aren't even stapled.
