seems to be a little confusion about the classes. there is indeed a medic kit, they can revive people (usually if you die in a vehicle though no revive possible) drop medkits, and heal anyone around them while they are holding a medkit. If riding in a vehicle people near the vehicle or in closeby vehicles will automatically heal slowly.

the kits are:

medic (assault rifle and medpacks)
spec ops (carbine and c4)
assault (assault rifle w/ grenade launcher)
sniper (rifle and claymore mines)
support (carries light mg and replenishes ammo like medic replenishes health)
engineer (has shotgun, AT mines, and heals vehicles instead)
anti-tank (missile launcher and submachinegun)

I think the class confusion was just me trying to puzzle out what is going to be in the console version versus the PC version. It looks like the console dropped Anti-Tank entirely (giving the engineer the rocket launcher) and dropped the medic (and gave the support character a item they can give 3 shots to themself or someone else to heal them). It will be a bummer if there is no reviving class or that passive healing aura.

xmiyux 08-10-05 02:53 PM

I'm thinking early november... but the 360 is supposed to be out in november so unfortunately i might need to consider not getting BF2 to save the 50$ for a 360 game. Decisions decisions...

BeanDip0001 08-11-05 03:50 PM

damn, if they made it for 360 itd look at good as the computer one! :( bad bad bad software people.

I wonder if games like this should be coming out. Everyone is up in arms about GTA but its so cartoony that it doesn't seem real. This on the other hand is a real look at war, but tone down just a little so the family can play. Kids are going to play this and want to fight in a war, not that serving the country is a bad thing but this game is aimed at kids. It gives the kids the bang, bang of war but not the horror. There isn't even a option to surrender and take prisoners so the kids are shown killing is the only answer.

I'm sure a stable family with a mom and dad could raise a fine kid even if he played games like this but single parent homes are becoming the norm now. Video games are the other parent and this parent isn't showing a balance picture of reality. Maybe it times we replace games like this with a better parent. Maybe a game that helped with math or a typing tutor game. There is more to life than destruction

I know adults play these games and they should have the right to do so. So as a compromise we should do what some other countries do with violent games and that is not allow them to be advertised or displayed in public. Adults will still be able to get the game by showing ID and asking for it at the counter. This way adults can play the games and kids wont be tempted by them.

Just defending the devil.

I'd have to disagree. There is more than the "bang bang of war" in Battlefield 2.

Other players are pretty horrified when they see me coming to boost my triple digit score for the round. I dish out the horror, baby!

Also, I'd have to say my math skills have improved. 64 combat points + 48 support points - 8 points for a Teamkill = 104 points for the round.

In addition, my typing skills have never been better. Have you ever tried to type "I Just PWNED you dude!" while taking Blackhawk fire?

raven56706 08-12-05 10:08 AM

Hell no... have no time..... plus i am always commander so i need to kick arse with artillery

BeanDip0001 08-12-05 03:59 PM

Is there a hipE :grouphug: out there among us? J/K No really though, BF2 really doesn't do the whole thing a 100%. For that you can play America's Army. Either way both of the games are great recruiting tools. And the console version of America's Army is aimed even more at the kids. It will all work itself out in the end; I mean most of the hipEs have to be dead by now anyway! :johnwoo::grouphug:

Pick a day and a usually empty server.

if you use xfire you can add those of us here who use it and it will let you know what server and when we're playing, nice little free app.

schmedy 08-26-05 06:58 AM

I am "schmedy" on xfire if you want to play sometime

Someones got to help me. I haven't been able to play this game for weeks. My game keeps crashing to the desktop when I start it. I've updated my video and sound drivers, I've messed with overclocking and underclocking, I have the newest patch and its still not working. My card is an NVIDIA GeForce 5600.

Your problem is that your video card is not supported:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

* Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
* 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
* 512 MB of RAM or more
* 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
* 2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
* DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
* DirectX 9.0c compatible

VIDEO
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:

* NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
* ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

RyoHazuki 10-20-05 12:27 AM

How was I playing the game for over a month without problems if my video card wasn't supported?

That's strange. Maybe they fixed it for you. What did you do different between the last time you played Battlefield 2 and the first time it didn't work?

RyoHazuki 10-20-05 04:20 PM

My computer got assraped by viruses and spyware.

I would probably try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work then I'd consider a hard drive wipe and a fresh install of the OS. Battlefield 2 is a must above all else. ;)
