Need help fixing LAG with XBOX Live
I need help getting rid of the lag in Xbox Live. Upstairs bedroom houses my cable modem and Wirelesss G Router. Downstairs living room (about 80' away is my wireless D-Link game adapter and Xbox. When I play on Xbox Live people are complaining about me lagging. What can I do to fix this? I am open to all suggestions.

Can you move the xbox upstairs and temporarily hard-wire it to the modem/router? I would try to verify that your wireless network is causing the lag. If you get the same results, focus on your connection and ignore the wireless segment (for now at least). If it works fine when hard-wired, maybe look at a different router?
This is probably very obvious, but you don't have anything else using your connection when you play do you? Could someone be downloading large files on another machine while you are trying to play?

Go into your Xbox Live settings and check the wireless connection quality. Mine at one point was bouncing back and forth between "low" and "good" until I moved the antenna slightly and it changed to "very good" to "excellent".

I would always recommend using a wired connection if at all possible, but if you are going to do the wireless thing, no problem. Here are some general tips for online gaming:
First, make sure that when you go on Live, all computers are off. Even if you are not online with your computer, it is sending packets and pinging other computers in general, not to mention people are trying to access your pc over the internet. You would be surprised at all of your computer's activities when it is supposedly idle. If you can't turn the computer(s) off, you can always disable internet activity in your software firewall software.
Another thing that people don't think to do is to reset their router and cable modem periodically. Seriously, it helps.
If you happen to have VOIP, try not to use it when you are online.
