Definitely got to wait and see the games, but I also will most likely buy all three even though I don't play as much anymore. I seem to enjoy being in debt. Gives me a reason to work. ;) I don't know if I will be buying any at launch this time around. I was disappointed with the Xbox and GC when purchased at launch so I will probably wait for a price drop on both. I waited for the $200 price drop on PS2, and will probably do so again.

Then again if the Revolution is introduced with a new Zelda game then I believe I will have to get that on launch.

Setzer 05-18-05 01:39 PM

I've already got a NES, SNES and N64. Why would I want to pay $30-40 to download games I already own? If you want to make the argument that you have to have more than one system hooked up to play those games where as the Revolution will allow you to play all those games on one machine then yes, it is a cool idea but I already have an Xbox that can do that. I'm not saying I won't be getting a Revolution, its just that I probably won't be getting one at launch. Definitely will be getting the PS3 though. At least with the PS3 I'll be able to play the PS1 & PS2 games I already own w/o having to buy those same titles again.

No one does, but I don't think they'll be that much. Probably $5 or so, with maybe SNES or N64 games being a little more.

I still have my SNES, but a lot of my games, and ones I pick up used, have dead batteries so I still would have to shell out $5 or more to get the stupid special screw driver and battery, so I'd have no problem paying.

My NES died years ago, and my N64 is buried in a closet somewhere at my parents. But those two are kind of moot points as it's really only SNES games (best system ever IMO) that I really want.

I'm a sucker for this stuff. I'll get all 3.

really do you buy it flowers and sing it love songs? i thought i was the only one who sang barry white songs to my xbox. glade to see another fourm member does the same. :)

no really though i agree i think my box is the best console i've ever had i see no reason why i won't like the new one just as much. and i'll probably get a ps3 after all the price drops and get the new tekken game because other than that i've never seen any ps game i've liked.

PS3, over the last 10 years or so, playstation has given me lots of enjoyment.

Ralph Wiggum 05-18-05 06:17 PM

I think I'll buy the Revolution. It'll have Nintendo's stuff, the most quirky/"new" games, the type of titles I'd like to play online (read: non-sports, FPS), and the access to Nintendo's back catalog.

Third Baseman 05-18-05 06:32 PM

PS3
360
Revo.

Chris_D 05-18-05 06:48 PM

Wow I see quite a few people are getting all 3. While I did get all 4 consoles this gen I can't see it happening again, it's a huge real estate investment if nothing else! At least the 360 will be a bit smaller...

No argument from me there. :D

I'm a Squaresoft fan boy so I'll follow wherever they go (so most likely PS3). But I'm probably gonna wait until the first price drop before I even think of buying any next gen system. I have to say though... PS3 is kinda ugly. Out of the 3 I like the 360 design the best.

gerrythedon 05-18-05 09:51 PM

I'll be getting a PS2 & Gamecube [already have an XBOX] from my Brother after he buys XBOX69, PS3 and Revolution. :)

TheMadMonk 05-18-05 10:01 PM

So, is the Phantom actually showing anything at E3? Haven't heard anything about it.

Giantrobo 05-19-05 07:38 AM

MS 360

I'm right there with ya. I always loved my sony products (I have a PS1 and PS2) but after I bought my XBOX, It quickly became my favorite system.
I make sure I say good night to it every night. My wife says I would rather sleep with it than her sometimes. Hey, what can I say, I doesn't complain. :D

Mr. Cinema 05-19-05 08:47 AM

I will get a 360, but my first choice will be a PS3. And I'm sure I'll get a Revolution down the road.

daniel18 05-19-05 02:07 PM

I'll get the X-Box 360 if it's fully backwards compatible. If not, then I'll get the Revolution.

For me, none at launch, since I still have massive packlogs in both PS2 and GC games. But the first one I'd pick up after pricedrop would probably be PS3.

edytwinky 05-19-05 02:39 PM

If the PS3 is nearly $400, there's no way I'd be buying one until the second round of pricedrops.

GatorDeb 05-19-05 08:20 PM

The GBA Micro is not a next-gen system, it's just a more portable one. Game GBA, smaller size.

I wont be getting any, just the DS and the PSP. I don't game at home, I do 99% of my gaming at work. Graphics don't matter to me at all. One of my favorite games is Zelda Minnish Cap. And I spent over 100 hours with the original Advanced Wars, over 60 with FF Tactics Advanced, and tens of hours with Golden Sun 1.

Yeah right ;)

Trigger 05-19-05 10:46 PM

I picked all 3 because I'll eventually get all 3 I think.

1. Xbox 360 - by far... with the launch library and multitude of features, it's the only one worth getting at launch.
2. Revolution - It can play every game they ever made... I might as well get it after a price drop or two... unless I hate the controller.
3. PS3 - originally first on my list of next gen systems, but dropped to 3rd after E3. I'll probably get one anyway since I don't have a PS2 and I have 30 games (lost it in the divorce). On the other hand, I might just get the slim ps2 and skip the PS3. Sad.

Kumar J 05-20-05 03:28 AM

Wait and see.Not in a hurry.I still got a lot of games to finish on my X-box

chess 05-20-05 08:46 AM

I'll probably get the revolution fairly close to launch. I used to be a bit of a Sony fanboy back in the PS/N64 days, but later bought a used N64, and have since accepted the reality that Zelda, Mario, and Metroid can do no wrong. Plus, Nintendo seems to be the only company that is interested in innovation in gameplay. Also, I love the classic games angle...though some of my lesser known third party favorites will surely be left out. Space Megaforce anyone?

I'll probably get one of the other two as my primary player for third party etc. If it weren't for Rockstar, Namco, and to a lesser extent Square, I probably wouldn't bother. I have zero interest in FPSs (except Metroid Prime) and I'm mildly interested in Blu Ray, so it'll probably be a PS3 for me....but not until a price drop or two.

edit to add...I have an awful lot of PS and PS2 games and backwards compatibility is a big selling point for me.
