Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2

I don't know if it's ever been mentioned here before, but I just found out about this in G4's video section:
http://www.g4tv.com/videos/index.html?video_key=8990

You gotta admit, that's pretty damn cool. It's amazing what the game's physics engine can do. Here is the main page for the mod:
http://www.garry.tv/garrysmod/

And one more thing -- check out the forum:
http://www.facepunchstudios.com/foru...splay.php?f=11
It's pretty active, where people post their own pictures. They create simulations of famous artwork, put 20 or more pictures together to form a "comic book", make movies, etc. Seriously, you could spend all day browsing that forum just looking at people's screenshots.

I read about earlier garry's mods, but never got around to downloading it. Looks like fun.

Garry's Mod is a blast. I never did spend enough time with it to do any of the really cool stuff, but I did enjoy hooking people to cars and then strapping fatcans it and sending it flying, and on fire, while I'm driving it.

There are a lot of cool bits on their forum (ragdoll poses and such). But this is by far the best one I found -- someone used still images to create a music video for Denis Leary's song "Asshole":

I had to pick up my jaw after hearing him say that. How can you say that out loud and not hide in shame!?

That was awesome. I haven't heard that song in a while so that was cool too. The guy who did this is pretty creative.

FYI -- version 8 was just released. I haven't tried it yet, though.

One more video I wanted to pass along. Someone made a music video for Breaking Benjamin's "Cold", using a combination of HL2 game footage and some shots of G-man "singing":
HQ WMV version (72 MB)
LQ WMV version (20 MB)
PSP version (28 MB)

I was really impressed with it. It actually looks like a professional music video, with the way it cuts back and forth between the footage and the "singing", and the way the footage fits the music.
