GB e-reader question

Will the e-reader work with the DS? If it does, Id like to pick one up for some of the old school nintendo games.

No, it only works with the GBA, GBA SP and the GameBoy player for the Cube.

I will check for you when I get home as I have it, a GBA and a DS.

If you do get one, make sure it is cheap. It is little more than a lame gadget IMO.

The e-reader uses the GBA link port and the DS doesn't have one. Plus, I don't think it will fit.

Not that it really changes the answer to the OP's question, but the e-reader doesn't actually use the GBA link port, from what I understand. Because of its bulk, they had to install a pass-through for the link port when installed in the GBA, since it covers up the port. If you look at the pictures of the GBA-SP, the link port on the e-reader isn't plugged in at all.

I think that's right - it needed the port so you could scan cards into Animal Crossing through the reader.

However, I tried it and the port pass through connector blocks the reader from being able to be plugged into the DS. Yet another reason I still have my original GBA (I love playing Animal Island in Animal Crossing;)).

Can't you just use a Dremel tool to slice the port pass-through connector thingie (assuming you don't intend on hooking it up to a regular GBA ever again)?

I was thinking the same thing.

This guy did it, and apparently it works:

Makes sense. It is made for the GBA so you would think it would work with the DS. I have two, but I don't know if I want to do surgery on one of them to use it with the DS.

I guess if I can get one for a couple of bucks, Ill pick one up.

I saw E-readers on clearance at target for $6.xx.
