Opinion noted. The threads get so slow at times I don't really see the demand for it to be weekly. If it wasn't for the Crazy Balloon battle going on this thread would be pretty dead. D300 must be holding back some million+ score for Puzz Loop because that game is getting no action at all. The score I posted was the first time I ever played it.

Maybe next month I'll put a poll in the thread asking which schedule everyone prefers. If it ever goes back to weekly I'll have to at least change the day to Friday or Saturday to see if it picks up. This one is over Friday night at 11:59 PM EDT. You can always play Star Castle in the meantime. :)

Oh, and I can't believe someone wants to play Star Castle again :lol:

The Solomon's Key score was also the first time that I played it. I am suprised that no one beat the score. I died 3 times on the same level. I cant seem to crack 25k on Balloon.

I just recently setup mame on my mac, and did test these games (they all work). I'll see if I can't crack any of those scores although I have never played any of them except Splatterhouse, but that was on TurboGraphix..

None of them appeared much fun, when I tested them though ;) I'm more of a TMNT or Double Dragon arcade guy..

I got sick of trying to get past level 3. You must've played it before since you picked it, so I'm sure you remembered some of it. When I said it was the first time I played Puzz Loop, I meant ever.

I'm sure I'll ruin any chance I have of winning by telling you that you can get a 300,000 bonus on the first stage.

I bet you're stuck on level 8 like me. That's a tough one.

I figured it out myself. I still don't know how I got 90,000 in Panic mode though. I haven't gotten close to that since. I must've cleared the board once.

I did watch a replay for Solomon's Key, just to see wtf you have to do on level 3. Still looked like a pain to me. Easy, my foot!

I have played it before on NES way back in the day.

If you would like to show me how I can show you my replay, I will gladly do that. I would like to learn how to do those myself as well.

Making a recording in MAME32 is pretty simple. Instead of just double clicking the game, you go to the File menu at the top and click on "Play and Record INP File" (I believe that's what it says. I don't have mame on my work computer like devilshalo does)

It will then ask you where you want to save this INP file. It records all of your input until you escape out of the game. You can then go back to the file menu and playback the INP file. You just have to make sure you know what version of mame you used to record it because it almost never plays back correctly in a different version. I think it works ok across different platforms, you just can't playback something recorded in version .63 with mame .95.

No, that was level 8, where I usually end up. I have gotten as far as level 10, but the score wasn't quite as high. I don't know if I'll be able to get past 10 before this is over. That Easter Island guy keeps blowing me into the wall.

The most I could get was 250K. Apparently, I'm not very good at creating chains for the bonus points since I barely beat your score and played many more levels than you did.

For the 300,000 bonus you have to finish the 1st level with 3 chains in 1 second. I'm pretty sure it's physically impossible to get more than that :) I've finished stage 1-2 with a pretty good bonus before, but I get virtually nothing after that. Stage 2-5 is as high as I gotten. That one may be too tough for me.

Time to start thinking of what to pick if you win. I think Splatterhouse and Solomon's Key are pretty safe.
