Rainbow Six 3 Headset X-Box

This is gonna sound like a stupid question and I feel stupid for asking but here it goes:

I got the Rainbow Six 3 headset but it seems to be for a left handed user, I'm a righty. Most headsets are dual user and you usually just have to move the mike to the other side depending on what you like, but it doesn't seem to work with this headset because of how the head support is designed. The ends of the head suport curve and hang over the ear, and when you move the mike to the other side, the ends curve under the ear, giving no support. There doesn't seem to be a way to detach the earpiece either.

I've spoken to UBISoft, who stated they don't support free items, I informed them it was not free as the package game and headset cost more than the game itself. In the end, they couldn't help.

Can anyone who has used the headset help me out?

The below link is to a headset similar to the Rainbow Six 3 one except it only has one earphone, but the head support is the similar.

If the link doesn't work, it's on the Logitech website: Part Number 980233-0914

Thanks

I've never really used headsets so please forgive me if i am missing something, but why would it matter which ear it is on (assuming the person isn't deaf in one)?

As for Maxflier's response, it's for comfort, it wouldn't of mattered if it was dual earphones but since it's one, I would prefer it over my right.

I'm confused what handed-ness has to do with which ear the headpiece goes over.

Usually, a person is more comfortable using one side if given a choice, for me it's my right side, which I equate with my right handedness.

I'm left handed, but the headset always goes over my right ear. I don't think it would be that hard to switch though.

No, it wouldn't, but if there was a way to switch it, why not. Anyways, there doesn't seem to be a way to switch it, thanks for the replys.
