XBOX HD Pack Question
 

Hi all,

I picked up an HD Pack (Microsoft brand) for my XBOX at lunch today and have a question. I'm seeing reference now to there being 2 versions of this pack? Is there one version better than the other?

The one I have doesn't seem to resemble what I'm seeing online. There is no large box with ports for the cables to go into. It's hard to tell (haven't opened it), but it looks like everything is all pre connected instead of running through a box like the old AV pack I have.

The one I have is a small box which the wires plug into. I bought mine at launch, so I don't know if they've changed it since.

This pack could have a small box in the bottom of the package I guess, hard to tell. The ones I'm seeing online now have a rather large looking rectangular box for things to plug into.

okay there is an old one and new one. the old one is a small box with the wires comming out of it. the new one is one large cable and the optical audio is on the plug that goes into your xbox not on the plastic box, well because you don't have a plastic box. the new one is what you are going to find ms shipping out now its what i have and works great there isn't any difference in the two other than i don't have some extra box around

Thanks BeanDip, I did some more searching & apparently some people have had problems with some cheap wiring on the old pack. Looking at what I have using your description it's the new one.

Yeah, I bought the original box version and the Red cable didn't work on it. I took it back and got the newer version, and so far it's worked fine.
