Just get some AA NiHMs. They last for ever in the wavebird. Around 100 hrs for regular batteries, I've never been able to estimate the NiHMs as they last too long between recharges. :D

Xbox Live is going to be an even bigger part of Xbox Next (or whatever its final name will be), so I don't think wireless standard controllers are a good idea for it unless they include voice capability (while maintaining the other requirements I listed, of course). Of course, the same won't necessarily hold true for Nintendo's offering, which will probably still be targeted at a different market than the Xbox.

When I had my wired controller hooked up I would just turn rumble off. It's a novelty that got old years ago and is just annoying now. It got to the point where I didn't even notice it anymore. Therefore to me it's useless. I'm sure there are others who do the same. I would trade the rumble on my PS2 controller in a heartbeat for an official Sony wireless controller. I was just making a point that there are already good wireless controllers out there.

I agree. I hated rumble from day one (Rumble Pack with Star Fox 64).

A vibrating piece of plastic in my hands just reminds me that I'm playing a game and kills the immersion for me.

Agreed 100%. I haven't seen a game that effectively uses the rumble since OOT on the N64. We've had a whole generation go by without decent use of it. it is a novelty at best and should go away.

FPS C'mon guys! ;)

Yeah rumble blows, lose it. Admittedly the dualshock2 isn't as bad as the n64 days because its a bit more subtle, but the only time i would ever elect to use it was if its required for some game mechanic (like in OOT).

Of course it's a different case if u have a full steering wheel set up for a driving game.

Eternal Darkness utilized it in a very similar manner to ZOOT.
