Need another XBox controller-Which one?
Hey
I'm looking to get another controller. Right now all I have is the standard one that came with the system. I wouldn't mind a wireless but haven't heard the pro or cons. Then there's the choices. I've seen Logitech, Datel, Pelican, The Edge, PlayOn, DragonBox, Hip Gear, Impact, Nyco Air Flo, Mad Catz, Blue, Crystal, Black, Green. Like any other game device some are better than others and some stay away from. The current XBox controller is ok as feel is concerned. But I wish the "clear & black" buttons were up near the (Y) and (X). I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Kenny J. |
the logitech wireless ones are badass. make sure you get one that resembles the controller s

Logitech Precision all the way!
When I had an Xbox I replaced all 4 Controller S's for 4 Logitech Precisions. I personally think they're that good. If you check Wal-Mart, they usually sell them for $39. Only con is that there's no port for your Live communicator adapter puck thingy. There are two on the wireless base, but then that defeats the whole purpose of being wireless. But this is only an issue if you have Live. However there are wireless headsets available. |
Other than the Logitech wireless (haven't used it myself but have read several positive reviews) I would stick to the MS controller. I've used the ones by Gamester and MadCatz and both feel very flimsy...when pressing the buttons or even the thumbsticks themselves feel rather lightweight when pushing them.
You can have the White and Black buttons closer to the X and Y buttons, but you'll have to look for the 'DUKE' to get that. It's the original controller MS built for the Xbox when it was first released, however, they don't build it anymore and some say it's too large to hold in your hand anyway. I personally thought the size of the Duke was perfect for my hands. |
I got my Logitech Precision at Buy.com , and it showed up in a couple days. Works great so far.

I don't mean to be redundant, but at the risk of sounding redundant : Get the Logitech Precision controller. It's a great alternative to the controller S. I use it all the time for non-live games (except those that require a lot of D-pad use; the D-pad sorta sucks.
