It’s about time: DVDTalk World of Warcraft Meet!
 

I think there’s enough of us playing this game out there that if we got together it should make for a fun event. Here’s what I propose:

When: CANCELLED (for now)

Where: Cenarius Server, meet inside the Stormwind tram station.

Who: DVDTalkers. Alliance characters. Create a new one, or use an old one. However, for the sake of keeping track of everybody, it would be nice if your character 1) wasn’t guilded and 2) has the same name as your DVDTalk user id (or is close).

What: The current schedule of events is as follows:

8:00-9:00pm Game Time (Pacific): Meet and greet, get guilded, duels, pose for a group screenshot, etc.

9:00pm Game Time (Pacific): Form a Raid Group and zerg Orgrimmar! Just for laughs, to see how far we can get. My proposed route: 1) Run South to Booty Bay, 2) Take the boat to Ratchet, 3) Run from Ratchet up to Orgrimmar.

Everything is subject to change, so keep watching this thread. Hopefully, we can get a big turnout for this! If so, the next meet will be on the Horde side!

Special Notes:

• Event is scheduled for next Friday, not tomorrow night!

• Dates and times were arbitrary on my part, they can be adjusted as necessary in order to accommodate the largest number of DVDTalkers.

• Cenarius was chosen simply because it seems that’s the server with the most DVDTalkers on it. This, like everything else, is completely flexible depending on what people want to do.

Special Request:

• If somebody has a rich enough character on Cenarius, please mail 10s to “Groucho” so I can pay the fee for a guild charter. (If somebody is REALLY rich, I won’t object to 10g for a tabard either…but that would be overkill methinks. :lol: )

Hhmm, maybe I'll have to make another character on Cenarius. Been too hard as it is to spread my time around on Blackhand with my other 3 characters (58 NE rogue, 26 human pally, and 16 undead mage).

how strick has blizzard been with naming conventions?
If i create a char named "timewaster", would they give me grief?

Cenarius is a Normal server, so the rules on names are more lax than on an RP server. Blizzard won't do anything about your name unless somebody reports it. The odds of that happening in the short period of time we'll be on is pretty slim, as long as nobody has a blatently offensive name.

Great idea! Too bad I don't have a character on Cenarius....raiding probaly won't be an option with a new character.

On this note, maybe we should all start new characters and a guild on one of the new servers Blizzard just opened up. I vote for a horde guild on Scarlet Crusade server. Any takers?

Perhaps it wasn't made clear in my original post, but this isn't designed to be a serious event...it's designed to be mostly level 1's with our DVDTalk names hanging out for a while before seeing how far we can get into Orgrimmar. This event is for everybody, not just those with characters on Cenarius.

Ah...cool. Sorry I thought you wanted to do a real raid. Either way, sounds like fun.


One thing....isn't Cenarius a pretty crowded server?

Sounds like fun - but why does it have to be Alliance chars?

I'll try for it if i'm around. I'll be level 1 if its alliance. I have a level 14 troll hunter on that server for horde week.

I do not think you can have a Hord and Alliance chars, on the same server? At least on my server it will not work

Addressing a couple questions...

1. The choice of Alliance was arbitrary. It had to be one or the other, since we can't communicate otherwise.

2. Cenarius is a Normal server, so you can have characters on both sides. If this was a PvP server, it wouldn't be an option.

The guild should have been started from the beginning,myself and a few others asked about it but i guess no one was interested so i joined another guild.Anyways i will be there,but i will obviously already be guilded.

Oh boy, nothing like a Level 1 raid :) I'll try and pop in.

i think it's gonna hard for me to create a character named peon

Based on the popularity of the main thread, I expected a much bigger response. Is anybody planning to actually come to this (I'm looking for Definite "Yes" answers) or should I scrap the whole thing?

I'd like to give a definite response, but being Friday night i'm not sure if other plans will come up.

Well I will be going out this evening but I will log on to Cenarius as soon as I get home. Being in the central time zone, hopefully I can get there early enough to catch some of you west coasters. I've already made a gnome mage so add me to your friends list as Phuzbox. Send me a tell if you see me online tonite. :)

I'll be there when we have a horde meet on Cenarius. Just don't want to mess with additional characters yet.

Due to lack of interest, I'm going to cancel the event. Perhaps we can come up with another day/time that will work better with more schedules.

I forgot about it til sunday. But friday night there were the server problems so it probably would have been crappy anyways.

Running to Booty Bay with level 1's? Ouch!! I tried that yesterday with my 22 Warrior, and didn't make it (got eaten by a dinosaur :()
