Can you change the name of an XBox without modding it?
 

does anyone how your xbox's name would get changed. my box used to be named Dopey, and now it is named OXM. does anyone know how i can change it back or to something cooler?

How did it change from dopey to OXM in the first place?


Just leave it alone and let your xbox have it's name given :)

i have no idea, the only games i've played on it are halo, halo 2, topspin, ncaa 2005, rallisport challenge 2. it was a mon i played a game of halo it was named dopey then a few days later i played some more halo and the name was OXM. the disc listed above are the only ones i've ever put in the thing beside some audio cds.

I read somewhere that you could change the name unless I' didn't read it right.

My friend's xbox had a dorky name and he was proud of it -biggrin-

Sometimes it happens. Howard was named Autosave for a while....

I believe you can change it if you have the 1st Dead or Alive game that came for xbox.

Yeah, in Dead or alive 3 if you get 1st place in the single survival mode, it'll ask you to enter a name -- thats what your XBox will be named

is doa 3 worth buying or should i just rent it? i see where its on the $20 list of games now.

It's a good game, but really, if you just want to change your XBox name....

Isn't Halo like the only game where you can see the NAME of your XBOX?

probably is, it is the only one i've got that you can see the name. i just wondered if there is somthing i did that made it change from Dopey to OXM.

Is there a cheat to do this? I'm not a fighting game type person and can't stand the thought of playing through it.

You can also change it with Cel Damage. Whatever you name your save file will become the name of the XBox.

here's a dumb question, how do you check the name of your Xbox?

well you just sit it down and have a nice long talk with it. just like picking up a girl at a bar, oh it talks so much crap too, but after awhile it'll tell you its name how sweet.

um right, anyhow put halo 1 in and do multiplayer. the name at the top under the picture of the xbox is what it is named.
