HAHAHAH!!
So I order my new cord Friday morning.....Friday night, I get the Official "There's a problem with our cords come to our site and order a new one" e-mail. Better late than never Microsoft. |
Wow that was fast! I got the new cord today in the mail. Less than week
|
Ordered mine I think on Thursday and got it today as well. Man it's a huge box on the end of the cord!
|
Got mine too. Very fast service. I guess I'm greedy, but was hoping for some bonusin the box; at least the Xbox Arcade or something. Still it was stand-up to send the notification and replacement part so fast.
|
got mine today after filling out the form this weekend. Man you guys weren't kidding, the box is huge at the end of the cord! It's so big it won't fit in my powerstrip. Now I have to figure out some way to move stuff around so i can plug all my HT stuff into my two power strips.

Does anyone know when the HALO LE XBOX's were manufactured????? It's a pain in the ass to unplug my XBOX and check....I will eventually, just wondering if anyone had any ideas?
|
I just checked my Halo LE XBOX and the manufacturing date was July of 2004. So, the Halo LE XBOX's power cords should be good.

Wow, I finally got mine and I like the new cord. Frankly all power cords should have saftey features like this.
Silly question but is it a Ground Fault Protection cord or something similar? |
i wish mine would cause a fire that would be great, okay maybe not, but i don't think i have to worry about it seeing as i got my box for a gift this year. but why did ms send me a letter anyway? very very odd.
|
Gonna order 2 for mine and my daughters.
I rang both of them out with my Fluke and they're fine, but it's always good to have spares. Wish I knew what the bad ones ring out at. |

The manual says GFCI outlets and surge protectors, do not provide the same protection. And to always use the protection cord to protect against damage and fire. |
so my brother got his today and he said that it doesn't have the big box on the end like mine does. His XBox is quite a bit newer so is it possible that his cord didn't need it or did they send him the wrong cord?
|
Mine doesn't have a box on the end.

Not all cords that Microsoft supplies to program participants will look the same. The type of cord that is shipped will depend on the date the console was manufactured and the country where it is used. |

Yeah, my cord came with the "wall wart" or box on the end and my XBOX was made back in 2001. I would guess newer xbox's don't need the "wall warts". |
cool thanks for the info. My XBox was manufacters 2/2002 and as I said he was much newer so that makes total sense.

Got mine today with the box on the end.

And even more fun with xbox cords :(

Yes. I used another type of the same cord when I lost mine for my xbox. I just had to shave some plastic off the connector to make it fit. |
