Reccomend an FPS to me
I'm looking for a good FPS for either PS2 or Gamecube. I'm not interested in a war sim type, and I've got Return to Wolfenstein, Time Splitters and the Red Faction games. Any input appreciated.

No One Lives Forever is an awesome FPS game. It is on PS2 and PC. I don't really know many console FPS games because I prefer to play them on a PC. I have not played No One Lives Forever on the PS2, so I don't know if anything is changed from the original PC version. The PC version is awesome though.
Gun is an upcoming FPS game for all consoles and PC. It is set in the Old West, and from all the trailers I have seen, it looks to be very good. It is supposed to come out by the end of the year sometime.
Max Payne 1 and 2 are also really good. They are 3rd-person shooters, but they play almost identical to 1st-person games. Again, I have not played the PS2 versions of these games, but I have read that there are some changes from the original PC versions because of the limitations of the PS2 hardware.

Of course the Metroid Prime games are amazing for the GC, though they're more First-Person adventures than shooters.
For the PS2, check out the recent Project Snowblind. I have it for the Xbox. It's not too military and uses psi-ops type power-ups to mix up the gameplay. I was really impressed with it and it can be found anywhere for $19.99 or less now.

Well a flipside opinion is do not get Project Snowblind. I played the PS2 version and found it dull. I heard that the PC version is full of bugs and you will be lucky to get it to work. So personally i would avoid...even if they try selling it cheap...which it appears they are these days.
The 2 No One Lives Forever games are both very good in my opinion. I would also recommend Soldier of Fortune 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, Farcry, Deus Ex and Project IGI 2 all for the PC. Some people will disagree (especially with Project IGI 2...which i have a fondness for), but i think they are worth checking out. Especiall Farcry and Deus Ex (which is probably one of the greatest games ever made).
Well hope i provided a little help.

James Bond: Nightfire is a great FPS for the GC (other consoles too, I owned the GC one though.) Fun multiplayer too (4 friends vs. 4 bots is a blast.)
