TRU B&M: 70% off some games

Perhaps it has been posted already but i didn't see it. Toys R Us has some games (at least in my location) marked with a green price tag for 70% off. They had some Xbox, PS2, and GC games but the selection was pretty picked through. I did score a copy of Deathrow for 6$ so you might want to give your local store a look see. There were a few sports titles and i specifically remember Black and Bruised as well as Eternal Darkness for the GC.

I picked up the following at TRU 70% off:

PS2 Optical Cable $2.99
R:Racing Evolution PS2: $4.48

I got a bunch when they were 50% off + $5 more off for all games under $19.99

there is a lot of stuff that is Green Tag but not marked. if there is anything you are curious about just have a cashier scan it and check.

Does anyplace have a list of titles on this sale?

Michael Corvin 12-29-04 08:21 PM

My TRU was sparce back when it was 50% off. I doubt things have changed. Thanks for the heads up though. I might check it out if I am near by. I wouldn't mind scoring Deathrow from all the positive talk I have read about it on the forum.

Here's everything I got form the TRU Green Tag sale:

XBox
Oddworld
NHL Rivals 2004
Bloodrayne
Jet X20
Namco Museum

PS2
Robotech Battlecry
Red Faction
Hitman 2
Primal
XIII
Ghost Recon Jungle Storm
Silpheed: The Lost Planet
Mad Maestro
R: Racing Revolution
Turok

They ranged in price, after discount, between $2.99-$7.49

WepaMan 12-30-04 08:36 AM

I picked up Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for 6 bucks and change the other day.

Michael Corvin 12-30-04 11:37 AM

I stopped in today. Louisville. Still had the 50% green tag signs and prices going. They only had about 50 games. Not titles. Games. Probably 7 different titles left between 3 systems.

Anyone wanna snag Deathrow for me cheap? I have great ebay feedback and can paypal. Email me.

Where would one find this coupon?

Well, it's too late now. They mailed out a little brochure that included a 'Buy 2 $19.99 or less, get $10 off' coupon to at least some on their mailing list. It was in effect from December 3 through 31.

Somebody over at the cheapassgamer forum scanned and hosted it, and almost every attempt to use a printout of it was successful (I myself was 3-for-3 after mistakenly throwing the original away).

And it didn't just stop at the first two games... you could have 2 games or 200 in your cart, and all you needed was the one coupon. Combined with some ridiculously low clearance prices, many people were loading up on games costing $5 all the way down to free. (I myself picked up 6 for $8+ total... a couple were PS2 Beyond Good & Evil ending up at $1.68; XIII was 48 cents.)

Bummer, but thanks for the info anyways.

Wow, too bad I never got that coupon. You got some great deals!

My Humble DVD Collection

They apparently add more stuff to the green tag deal all the time, as I scored 3 official first-party Xbox S controllers for $9 each and got one third-party Interact one for around $4. I also saw the Xbox LCD screens for $48 or so and the PSOne LCD screens for $30. Pretty good deals if you can get them, I still can't believe I got three new first party Xbox controllers at this price...

SpaceBoy 01-02-05 07:04 PM

Went by to check it out anyways. Got Baulder's Gate on GC for 9 something, and picked up Eternal Darkness for like 5 bucks.

Pretty good prices although neither were marked that low, just took them up thinking they were like 15-20 each. So a nice suprise when they rang up.

Maryang Palad 01-03-05 05:35 PM

I got 2 Katamari Damacy and 4 Xenosaga for $20.00 with the coupon. Best deal for me.

nickdawgy 01-03-05 06:06 PM

All my TRU had was Primal, and NFL 2k3 on green tag. It sucked.

wow, that is a great deal for the official xbox S controllers. do u have to use any coupon to get it at $9 each? was the controllers marked on sale at all?

No coupon was necessary, however they were marked with the green tag at $29.99, so the 70% off brought them to around $9. I saw them right as the manager was putting them out on the floor and I asked if I could buy all three, and he said no problem. I probably was just in the right place at the right time.
