My brother is finally getting a PS2 for xmas after getting rid of his Xbox. What are some of the best older, cheaper Greatest Hits games for the PS2? I hope to get over to Circuit City soon, but don't really know what to look for. The 2 he mentioned were Need For Speed: Underground 2 (which is new & should be easy to find) & Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (which might be tougher to locate). I'm hoping to add a couple of good bargain games to the pile. I wouldn't mind suggestions on excellent new games also...

Midnight Club II. Picked it up at Circuit City for $9.99 this week even though I already had the XBOX version. Two reasons, its one of the few games I go back to frequently and I bought the PS2 version to play online with my friend who doesn't have XBOX Live.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is not a GH title. It just came out and retails for $50. The price of the original NFSU has been cut to $20.

Both GTA3 and GTA: Vice City are part of the GH lineup now. If he hasn't played the XBox versions these are a great buy at under $20 each.

Ico, while not a GH title, is widely available for less than $20. It is still one of the best games ever made for the PS2. I also recommend War of the Monsters if you can find a copy.

Yeah, I knew this was new & was willing to get 1 full price game, but wanted a few ideas for cheaper games too. I used the 20% off e-mail to get NFS Underground 2 at Circuit City, but didn't see much else at my local. Went across the street to TRU & found Soul Calibur 2 for $7.98 & Devil May Cry for $5.48. Seems like a pretty good start. Maybe I'l go back out tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated.

Anyways as somebody said NFSU2 is going to be hard to find less than $50 but you can get the original for $20. With those game requests I would also reccomend Burnout 2 as another good racing game that is $20 nearly everywhere.

I will also reccomend some other games. Beyond Good & Evil is one of my favorites and can easily be found for much less than $20. In fact if you have a Toys R us nearby it can be had for about $3-4. Check this thread at cheapassgamer, and print the $10 off 2 games $19.99 or less on page 9 to pick up a couple games cheap.
