Help me get "into" World of Warcraft
 

I just bought the game, this being my first MMORPG, I am sort of lost. If anybody has just started playing, it would be pretty cool to get in a group and handle the game together.

Hi there! What race/class combo are you playing? How exactly are you lost? With a bit more info, I'm sure we can help you out.

alright, i think everything is good now... I wasnt sure what to expect (this being my first mmorpg), but i played it some more, and now i am starting to get a good feel of things. But yeah, if i need any help or anything, i know the place to come to.. thanks anyway guys

Just grab up quests wherever you see them and that will get you going. People in game are generally pretty good about helping out with simple questions (like where is the warrior trainer etc.) Try the General chat feature to ask your questions. Once you pick a profession, that will take time and effort to progress so that will give you plenty to do.

I have skinning/leatherworking so I just go on hunting binges and come back with 50-60 leather pieces that I can use to make stuff and sell.

There's plenty to do to keep you busy...(exploring is a full-time job). This game should keep you entertained for awhile. It's more addictive than Civilization (I never thought that was possible). I haven't touched HALO 2 since I picked up WoW last week.

I hand out most of my stuff to my guild, but what I have left does bring in some good coin and I've traded numerous armor kits for bag upgrades as well

I haven't touched Halo 2 since Half-Life 2 came out - then NFSU2 came out - i don't even know if I'll be checking out WoW.

I havent played any game since i've played Wow in open beta. I'm getting it for xmas (or else buying for myself if no one gives it to me). I figured i'd take the month off of video games (except one night of halo 2) before starting up Wow. This has been a real sucky month and all i do is read the Wow forums when i can.
I'm addicted to a game i dont have. so sad

Join Cenarius where everyone else is ;)

Start doing quests - the game does a good job of guiding you through the game the first many levels.

Ask in the area you are in as well, people are always up for groups and helping out a lot in my experience.

And post your name if you are on cenarius, i'll in-game email you some money to get you started ;)

If anything would turn you off the game, you'd think it would be those forums.

Alright guys, I stopped using the character (level 8 rogue) I had on the other server, and I joined Cenarius, my name in the game is Solbin (Night Elf Rogue). Ill see you guys in the game!

Cool I did a search on cenarius and found this thread....but lmfao I just noticed it is older than dirt. I just started playing and am a lvl 13 hunter in cenarius. Any help would be awesome. my name is Borg.

exactly 1 year to the day later...

I just hit level 60 a few weeks ago. it took me almost a year. kind of sad.
I havent really played any other game in the last year
