halo 2 co-op question (non-live related)

is there a way to play co-op mode in the normal (halo 1) top/bottom split screen mode instead of the side by side split?
thanks!

Apparently if you have a widescreen HDTV, it defaults to vertical split, and the only way to turn it off is to turn off widescreen...

I noticed that too. I was used to the horizontal split, but I guess I'll have to get used to the vertical.

It makes some sense. I don't believe the original Halo was widescreen enabled, but to split a screen vertically on a widescreen TV makes for a weird viewing area, I would think. Still, a choice would be preferable.

i cant stand the verticle split; i switched my xbox to 4:3 mode for 2 player co-op

It would be great if you could play Halo co-op over system link. I'm really upset that they didn't include that option.

Did they fix it for Halo2?

while we're on the topic of halo 2 screen problems, has anyone else noticed that the left side of the screen gets cut off? when it says "checkpoint" i only see "heckpoint".. is this a WS only problem? I have never had any similar xbox problems on my tv (Mits 55 inch WS)
