PS2 Online Questions

Hey, I am getting the new WWE Wrestling game this weekend, and was thinking about getting a PS2 Network Adaptor. Just wondering:

-I have DSL, will that work with the adaptor? Also, my computer is downstairs and my PS2 is upstairs, will that make a difference?

-Will I have to PAY to play online? I don't have a credit card.

It will work fine with DSL. You will need a router, though and since it's upstairs, probalby a wireless router unless that room is already wired and routed for high-speed internet.

Nope. Online play is free and decentralized on the PS2.

Word. Now how much is a router for the PS2 and where do I get one?

Fred,
it's basically 2 purchases if I'm not mistaken.

You'll need a router so you can build a small home network to share the DSL.
Then you'll need some sort of wireless NetExtender device specifically for the PS2.

I'm guessing the cheapest you could get away with would be about $100.

Hopefully someone will be able to share a cheaper alternative.

Good luck.

Instead of paying $40 of the network adaptor you are probably better off trading your PS2 into Eb and buying the new redesigned system.

what does EB offer on a PS2 trade in?

I think it's an old system + 3 games for a new system, but I could be wrong.

i recommend the wired route as opposed to the wireless. the wireless is all based on signal strength and that can affect some of the games. i have both set-ups and wireless works 90% of the time, while the wired way is guaranteed to work...

I think it was 5 games, but didn't the deal expire on October 31st? Maybe not, but for some reason, I have 10/31 in my head.
