Which GBA Game Should I Get
Think about Golden Sun Lost Age or Final Fantasy Tactics.
|
Don't play Lost Age unless you have played, and beaten the first Golden Sun. It's a direct sequel. The end of the first game is the beginning of the 2nd. You would be completely lost. FFTA is incredible if you like strategy RPG's like it. I logged over 70 hours with it last summer.

FFTA, for sure. Just make sure you get the official Player's Guide as it is a VERY involved game and it will help you decide how to craft the members of your clan early on. I have The Lost Age but got stuck and didn't pick it up again. I may at some point in the future, as I enjoyed the first one. On the other hand, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that I've put in approx. 270 hours on FFTA since last year and I'm still playing it. Through that whole time it's been my No. 1 game. I've played other things intermittently on GBA and GCN (Wind Waker was the only thing that kept me as entranced from beginning to end), but I always come back to FFTA. Talk about getting value for your money! ;)

Tactics. It has its share of problems, but overall it's fantastic. I logged 100 hours before I forced myself to finish the game and go on with life.

Beware of FFTA, it is VERY intricate. I've been playing 14+ hours and am just now figuring out how half of the stuff works!
Golden Sun is great. As mentioned, start with the first game and then play Lost Age. Both are excellent (plus you can migrate your Golden Sun stats/equipment over to Lost Age). |
I started playing Golden Sun : The Lost Age before I ever played 1st game. Didn't really know the background story, but the puzzles that you need to solve in each dungeon is pretty cool.
I just got FFTA recently so haven't play it much yet. Still concentrating on finishing Fire Emblem. |
This is tough because I loved both games. Tactics is great, but I would suggest getting both Golden Sun 1 and 2 and playing them through. I really enjoyed that series. It was a nice throwback to the SNES days of RPGs and has a great storyline, cool puzzles and an excellent combat system. Plus its very cool when the characters you play in the first game meet up with the ones you are using in the second game.
