Because you asked, I've already got mine reserved although not sure about release date. Animal Crossing DS is the game that sold me but there's tons of stuff I want to check out (Nintendo and Square titles). Can't wait...

goLUCKY 08-09-04 09:05 AM

Currently no, but we'll see.

note: I currently have an regular Advance and a SP.

No. IMO it's too expensive for a portable system, given I don't travel enough and what not to need a portable gaming system.

I'm interested, but I won't pay $180 for a handheld gaming system and I still have to see more software on it I would want to play.

Animal Crossing is interesting, but I don't know if I want to invest my life in that game again after doing it a few years ago on the Cube. The only reason I stuck with AC for so long was just to unlock all the NES games. If this version is just going to include the same NES titles as the Cube version I will pass.

Mario 64 doesn't interest me either. I enjoyed it on the N64 when it first came out, but I'm sick and tired of the 3D platformer. Same goes for Metroid. Looks like its going to be a FPS like the Cube version and I would rather have it 2D on a handheld.

If the DS is just going to be a pocket N64 I may pass. As it looks now Square may be the company that gets me to buy one depending on the games they release for it. However Crystal Chronicles DS won't be the game to do it. I'm not going to have to depend on finding three other people around with the game and a DS every time I want to play.

I bought Crystal Chronicles and Zelda Four Swords for the Cube and its fun whenever all of us can get together and play, but can sometimes be a drag when you have to wait a week or two to play it again. No one wants to miss anything so you have to all play together.

I would rather not hassle with that on the DS.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but it was released last week (on my birthday!). It's a list of upcoming titles for the DS. A lot of these may be Japan-only, but it still has plenty of reasons to get excited, among them a DS version of Survival Kids from Konami (imagine the possibilities!), a new Mana game from Square, a DS Boktai, and confirmation of Animal Crossing DS.

But WTF is "Nintendogs?!" ;)
