Networking XBOX to PC - Hub, Switch, Router or Crossover Cable ?
I'm a bit inexperienced with networking
Seems there are many ways to network your PC and your XBox what method is preferable and easiest ? I have one network card in my PC connected to my ADSL modem Seems that buying a hub, switch, router or a second network card all costs about the same cheers |
You should get a router that will connect to the modem and then have your PC and Xbox connect to the router.

I concur. Are your modem and xbox are located pretty close to each other?

I just set up Xbox live Friday using a wireless Linsys router(wrt54g) and the MS Xbox adapter(mn-740 i think). I had never set a network up and it was easier than I thought it would be. I just had to pretty much plug a few cable in and I was ready to go. My only problem was before I updated the Firmware on the Xbox adapter my signal strength was low. So far playing on Live has been a good experience with my setup.
