Ray Lewis Madden 2005 Cover boy

As a Ravens fan I'm terrified. This is the worst sports jinx there is right now.

It might sound dumb, but what if EA tried regionalized or variant covers? Each city/region would have its local MVP/hot star on the cover, or they could release like a different cover for each division. Just a thought.

Sounds expensive.

Wouldn't want to inspire any sort of "Pokemon" gotta catch 'em all mentality either...

Great. Hopefully the Raven's won't make the playoffs now and I won't have to suffer through their boring ass, defensive oriented games in the post season.

At least with the regional cover idea the curse would be balanced out equally amongst all the teams.

I wish they would put John Madden on the cover like they used to, but with this curse going around I'd hate to see something happen to him.

Maybe it will be a mugshot on the cover. It will go well with all the ill beatz on the soundtrack.

I'm a linebacker, a car jacker, a people whacker, a booty smacker! Word!

They could do a Madden classic cover with O.J.

Hmmmm.......I can even think of a cover boy for NBA Live that has been on the news lately.

I do not like criminals very much.

You know why I'm a Ray Lewis fan? No one executes like he does.

Tom was on Gameday a few years back, wasn't he? I guess it is the reverse curse now that Gameday will no longer be made

I think Lewis is very solid and he'll break the Madden curse. You heard it here first.

I'd love if they put Madden on the cover. He hasn't been good for at least 5 years.

Why not put Ray Carruth and Ray Lewis both on the cover? Then we would have an ex-NFL killer and a current NFL killer to represent.

Since thing's worked out so great with last year's cover boy they should have put Vick back on the cover again(Panther's fan).

Anyone notice the ESPN College Hoops curse as well.

First Jay Williams and then TJ Ford. Both have had horrible luck.

Ray Lewis will be fine. Its anyone around that murderer that should be worried.

I agree - this will be the year that the curse is broken.

As a football fan that can appreciate good defense, Ray Lewis is the best at what he does. He deserves the cover more than those of year past (Vick & Culpepper come to mind.)

I knew someone was going to post something like that. Though I do see your point. The guy is a GREAT player but not a role model for kids IMO. He's lucky he's not sitting in jail right now.

Agreed. Why put this idiot on the cover of the game when there are plenty of other NFL players who would be a better choice?

Guess the game needs some "street cred"...

almost on topic: Ray just got his degree from UMD, apparently he had promised his mom when he left Miami that he'd eventually graduate, so he's been going to night school and taking internet classes.

I dont necessarily think he's a real bad guy, he definately is a thug, and he made some poor decisions in the past that he had luckily managed to recover from.
