Pet Names

I was just thinking (Yes, I do that from time to time) about how I have named my two Rottweilers after characters in movies (Trinity & Nakita) and was wondering if any of you have named your pets after any video game persona or even other movie characters.

I have a fish named Kirby. I also named my cat Jones after the cat in Alien.

My wife named our dog "Byrdie" after Sandra Bullock's character in Hope Floats. We also have two cats named Mogwai and Spike.

I named a hamster Josephine from Titanic. My cat was called Fluffy. I think it's pretty common name from many movies.

I named a couple of my cats after anime characters. Myung and Isamu from Macross Plus. I named my dog after my first motorcycle, a Shadow. He's a black dog. Seemed to fit.

Our two cats who came from the same litter are named Jack and Lily (Legend). In worked out nice, as Jack is very wild and adventurous and Lily is very laid back and likes to be treated like a "princess".

My dog, Abbot is named after a comic-book bit-character. One of my snakes is named Fred Weasly, from the Harry Potter books.

I almost named him Samonosuke from Onimusha, but I figured I'd get tired of explaining it. No one questions why you named a pet Fred.

Chewie
Named after Chewbacca originally, meaning has changed overtime.

Luna
Named after Serena's cat in the Sailor Moon cartoon.

No, but I named the dog in FFVIII after my two dogs....they were named Scout and Franny, so I renamed Angelo 'Frouty.'
I read in one of the gaming magazines a couple months back where this guy named his daughter after a video game character. I think it was FF related, maybe Aeris?

Her first-grade classmates will, too, because they get to call her Airhead.

I like it too, but you've got to be *very* careful about names for kids. Kids will find *some* way to make fun of any name, so it's not 100% foolproof, but don't go making it harder for your child to make it through their childhood.
We were going to name our boy after his two grandfathers, but the only pattern that sounded good was James Robert. Seeing as how we live in the South, I wasn't going to help continue/fulfill the stereotype....

Spoiler:
James Robert = JimBob. It could be worse, but I couldn't do that to a kid.
