I know you said you didn't want any sports games, but I would very, very highly recommend Sega Soccer Slam. I hate sports games, but it's still one of my favorite XBox games. Infectiously fun, highly addictive, and among the best party games on the console. Between Halo and Sega Soccer Slam, some friends that came over this weekend spent ten hours playing pretty much nothing but those.
Kung Fu Chaos is also a blast with four players.

1080, Animal Crossing, Beach Spikers, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, F-Zero GX, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Kirby Air Ride, Mario Golf, Mario Kart, Mario Party 5 & 6, Pac-Man Vs, Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Super Smash Bros and Wario Ware Inc plus all your standard sports (NBA Street Vol. 2) and shooters (Medal of Honor) that third parties puts out. And with Wavebirds you have no crossing cables. amen.

I also have to give a shout out to Hunter: The Reckoning, and Hunter The Reckoning: Redeemer, both great fun. If you're looking for another shooter in addition to HALO, you may look into Timesplitters 2.

Umm... Crimson Skies isn't a four player game, is it? And even the two player is pretty boring without live. I think Project Gotham Racing 2 is, though.

Maybe 2 player would be boring w/o Live, but 4 player was a blast.

I see. I just saw the back cover and it said 1-4 players.
