Wega Issues. Any advice?
I've got my Xbox connected to my 24" Wega via S-video. It's directly connected. I played the heck out of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and noticed that I'm seeing some major artifacting in gradient areas (light source to dark). THe main character has a little light on his back that shows up like a square mosaic rather than a soft gradient lighting the characters back. Is this a common Wega issue? I don't have component inputs, but that wouldn't do much on a standard TV. I've also tried the RGB and get the same results. Any advice? Thanks.

The better the TV, the more obvious something like this is. Try turning down the brightness and contrast a little.

Gspot's review mentioned that little problem.
"And the little light sources on Fisher's stealth suit for some reason generate some rather noticeable and unsightly artifacting, an effect similar to when you see "chunks" of color appear while watching a dark scene on some DVDs. On the PC, this isn't a problem, though the simple character models stick out at higher resolutions." http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/pa.../review-3.html |
Thanks!
I lowered the contrast and the picture levels until the artifacting went away. Actually is creating a better game experience for me. I relied too heavily on factor presetting. Thanks for your help!

your wega has presets that you can use - you probably had it on "Vivid" - try "Standard" or "Pro" for Xbox games like this.
