Thats my other problem with the show, they do this for every game for the purpose of putting flashy segments over quality reviews. I happened to see the show yesterday and it hasn't improved at all. Long live extended play (as many faults as it had it was 1000 times better and not aimed at pre-teens).

Thats too bad leo's going to do Call for Help. Its so boooooring compared to The Screen Savers. Patrick actually doesn't bother me that much, I think he does an ok job when he's partnered with someone like crazy Leo. The countownolsenstwins bit was a good recent example of this. Hopefully Kevin will be able to fill in for this, i do like the dtips :).

And I believe Charter will be keeping this channel as well, it'll be the same channel that TTV is already on, I think someone was asking about this earlier along with myself.

Extended Play was decent to good, but when it was Gamespot (i think thats what it was called) and Kate Botello was still around the show was that much better. I got the sense from Kate actually, get this, played games. I don't get that feeling from any of the "hot chicks" from either G4 or Morgan. And I put "hot chicks" in quotes because none of these girls really do anything for me. And before the gay jokes come a rolling in, I thought Sumi Das (Sumi was just stunning!), Jessica Hill, Michella, and Megan Morrone (I love dem curvy nerdy girls. Plus she just came across as a sweetheart) were hotter/cuter than Morgan. I'm not saying she's ugly at all, I just see a lot of fawning on various boards that I don't get. Just preference I guess. Kate, while not a beauty queen(hell, I'll admit I thought she was kinda cute), had tons of charm and brought something to the show. She and Adam had great chemistry as well. Now Adam is just the butt of every joke under the sun. He used to do that on Extended Play a bit too, but not every segment.

I agree with njchris and outlaw that they just seem to pick games to laugh at. If you only have 30 mins to review games why not pick some that you think would have some value? Every game "sucks" or is "worst. game. ever.". That shit just get old fast. And all that being said, x-play is still a better VG review show than anything on g4. How sad is that? Victor Lucas would be pretty good on his own, but that Tommy Tollerico<sp> dude just brings him down so much.

I hope G4 doesn't pull a WWE and essentially wash away Tech TV(WCW) from existence.

Lets hope that bastard is there on Saturday so we can heckle him KLOV style :)

G4 is a really bad channel. Don't get me wrong, I love the concept of having a video game channel, but they really screw it up. I hope this acquisition of Tech TV improves the quality of the show.

Were you at that auction (it was the one before last, i guess back in June/July)? I got filmed playing one of my least favorite games, Revolution X. Adam S is a tiny fellow.

From what I'm reading, it just seems like they want to have the actual channel. They figure that getting people to start watching a channel is the hard work. They think G4 isn't being watched because no one has started watching. They think that if they buy out TechTV, then put all their crappy G4 shows on it, then people will watch them, because they're watching that channel.

They're not realising that people aren't watching that channel because it sucks.

What it means is TechTV has a larger audience because it's been picked up by more cable and satellite providers than G4. By G4 buying TechTV, they assume that substantial audience.

It's not they are trying to get people to start watching a channel, more like by buying TechTV they've substantially increased their potential audience because they are automatically in many more homes across the country.

Like someone quoted earlier, it's buying the house for the land.

The most time I ever spent watching G4 was the first week when they were showing Pong. It's been downhill ever since.

I watch The Screensavers every day, but the combination of Leo leaving the show and folding TechTV into G4 will probably be the end of that. I don't watch any of the other shows because The Screensavers pretty much gave you a bit of everything the channel has to offer condensed into an hour and in a very casual format.

I really don't like that they are going to keep the G4 name. Hopefully that doesn't mean it's going to be all gaming, all the time. It's too narrow a topic and there should be a place for shows like Fresh Gear, Call for Help, Tech Live and The Screensavers.

I have a feeling they're not going to keep Screen Savers the same way it is now... my feeling is it'll change into an all games channel... or at best cater it more to a low end user crowd (Next up... tips on Mine Sweeper and we show you how to change your screen's resolution!) everything seems to be pointing to that.

Yeah I'm sure it will be more mod segments with Yoshi and stuff on graphic card benchmarking and config tweaking. And LAN Party every night.

G4 is okay. I like Judgment Day, Electric Playground, Filter, Icons. But they do repeat stuff way too much.

X-Play, Screensavers, Call for Help were the best shows on TechTV IMO.

Ugh, that is not good news at all. I found Leo kind of funny and he did make shows like CFH and SS more interesting. I am not a huge fan of Kevin (yet), I think he is just trying too hard to be the hacker kid.
