Onimusha 3 and a NEW Onimusha Fighting game?
I remember someone posted a kickass .mov file of Onimusha 3 here some time back. In keeping with modeling Onimusha's hero after popular people the hero was/is based on French actor Jean Reno and seemingly takes place in the future and the past. It also seems to take place in Japan and Europe. What ever happened to it? Was it ever released here or in Japan? btw, I've got the .mov trailer here on my computer and will send it by e-mail if someone wants to host it.
http://ffmedia.ign.com/rollerball/im...ball_reno1.jpg I also saw a new Onimusha fighting game "pre-order" box at gamestop here in Torrance. It looked like it's a Street Fighter style game featuring playable heroes and bad guys from at least Onimusha 1 and 2. Why did this one come out here before Onimusha 3? |
onimusha 3 is still on the roster. in the april EGM it lists a release date of may 2004. i believe that its taking slightly longer for this game to be released because of the production involved. the game features full 3D backdrops as opposed to the first two games. just a theory.
by the way, the latest issue of PSM gave onimusha blade warriors an '8'...for whatever its worth. |
Ohhh ok thanks!

I love the Onimusha series and im eagerly awaiting these two titles. Ive already got Onimsuha BW fully pre-ordered. Also, id reccommend to anyone who didnt get to play Onimusha Tactics on the GBA to do so, its awesome!

It's a great series. I still haven't finished O2 but I intend too.

Onimusha 3 is out in Japan. I've seen reviews for the Onimusha fighting game in several mags, it got decent reviews.

Anyone know if they changed the control's at all? I disliked the control scheme in the originals.

According to an article I read in Gamespot the game does not use a control scheme like the previous two but rather one that's like that of Devil May Cry. In other words, you push the analog stike in the relative direction you want your character to go rather than always push up to make him go forward and down to go backward.

I think controls using the analog sticks are much better than the ones that use the direction pad. |
The fighting game you're thinking of is Onimusha Blade Warriors. It's more like Powerstone fighting than one on one Street Fighter fighting. It's a 4 player fighting across different platforms and you can get powerups and items/weapons while fghting.
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/o...den/index.html The high-res version of the Onimusha 3 intro movie is already hosted at Fileplanet so you don't need to worry about anyone hosting it. http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/136911.shtml |
